About the Role:
The Relationship Manager – Remittances will be responsible for driving growth in Outward and Inward Cross‑Border Remittances, with a specific focus on LRS (Liberalised Remittance Scheme) business. The role involves managing branch relationships, working closely with internal stakeholders, acquiring new partnerships, and ensuring seamless end‑to‑end service delivery for customers.
This position requires strong relationship‑building capability, sound understanding of remittance products and regulations, and the ability to drive business across assigned geographies.
The RM will work collaboratively with National Managers, Zonal Heads,
Government & Institutional Banking RMs, and asset verticals to grow
the Remittances portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
Develop and execute a business plan to achieve Remittances business targets across the assigned geography.
Drive outward remittance volumes under LRS by sourcing customers through branches and referral partners.
Lead and strengthen partnerships with FinTechs, FFMCs, Referral Agents, Non‑Resident Exchange Houses, and Overseas Banks.
Acquire new business opportunities in key segments such as Education, Medical, Travel, Trade‑related remittances, and NRI channels.
Stakeholder Management
Engage closely with branch banking teams to train, support, and activate them for remittance sourcing.
Collaborate with Product Managers to streamline processes for client onboarding, servicing, pricing, and documentation.
Support other business teams in identifying and converting remittance opportunities.
Governance, Compliance & Controls
Ensure full adherence to RBI/FEMA guidelines, foreign exchange regulations, and internal bank policies.
Maintain the highest standards of ethics, conduct, and compliance across all customer interactions and transactions.
Ensure accurate documentation and audit readiness for all remittance transactions.
P&L Ownership
Own and deliver the P&L for Trade & Remittances for the assigned portfolio.
Achieve profitable growth while balancing short‑term performance and long‑term strategic objectives.
Managerial & Leadership Responsibilities
Provide support, guidance, and problem resolution to teams for driving business growth.
Enable cross‑functional teams and branches to achieve remittance goals through continuous engagement and training.
Qualifications & Experience
Graduate / Post‑Graduate (preferably in Commerce, Finance, International Business).
2–5 years of experience in Trade Finance / Cross‑Border Remittances / Foreign Exchange, with strong understanding of FEMA, AD‑II regulations, and LRS processes.
Prior experience in engaging FFMCs, consultants, travel partners, or corporate clients is preferred.
