SECTION II: ROLE SUMMARY (Purpose of the Role)
Lead end-to-end mining operations for copper, cobalt and associated mineral
assets across the Katanga Copper Belt. The role is accountable for safe,
sustainable and profitable extraction of ore reserves through effective mine
planning, production management, fleet optimization, contractor
management, environmental stewardship and stakeholder engagement.
The incumbent will drive operational excellence, reserve utilization,
productivity improvement, cost optimization and long-term mine sustainability
while
ensuring compliance with DRC mining regulations, international safety
standards and ESG commitments.
SECTION III: KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ ACCOUNTABILITIES
Mine Operations
Leadership
Lead open pit mining operations covering drilling, blasting, loading, hauling,
stockpiling and ore delivery.
Ensure achievement of annual production targets for ore and waste movement.
Drive operational efficiency and equipment utilization.
Monitor productivity KPIs, mining recovery and dilution control.
Strategic Mine
Planning
Align short, medium and long-term mine plans with business objectives.
Ensure optimal reserve extraction and mine life maximization.
Review pit designs, sequencing and production schedules.
Integrate geological, geotechnical and metallurgical inputs into mine plans.
Contractor & Fleet
Management
Manage mining contractors, OEMs and service providers.
Oversee fleet performance, availability and reliability.
Drive cost-effective equipment deployment and maintenance planning.
Safety,
Sustainability &
ESG
Champion a Zero Harm culture.
Ensure compliance with DRC mining legislation and international mining
standards.
Lead environmental management initiatives including waste dumps,
rehabilitation and water management.
Support community development and local stakeholder engagement programs.
Financial &
Commercial
Management
Develop and manage mining operational budgets.
Optimize mining cost per tonne.
Drive productivity improvement and continuous improvement initiatives.
Evaluate capital projects and mining investments.
Leadership &

Lead multidisciplinary mining teams.
Develop succession pipelines and local talent.
Foster performance-driven and accountable culture.

Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering
Master's Degree in Mining Engineering / Mineral Economics
