Job Description: Manager in Agronomy ORG (Seed Science & Technology)

Job Description is as follows:

Rubber Tree Exploitation:
-
Learning all the aspects of Tree Exploitation – Tapping School – Drawing
Tapping Charts for all the parcels and yearly review of tapping charts.
-
Understanding and research on different methods of the Tree Exploitation
– compare with the existing tree exploitation system at ORG – providing
insights and recommendations for changes in tapping policies based on
need.

Support the analysis of latex samples and charting the parcel wise
recommendations for stimulant applications through LD laboratory results
for yield optimization.

Participate in tapping standard audits with the Quality Control team.
-
Aid in generating a holistic MIS for rubber exploitation, including
yield patterns and clone-specific data.
- Assist in the yearly census of tapping and non-tapping trees.
-
Support DRC (Dry Rubber Content) analysis and laboratory operations
under supervision.
-
Control the RRIMFLOW system trial in ORG under the direct supervision of
Head of Agronomy at ORG.

Understanding the Immature & Immature phase of a Rubber Plantation:
-
Study the old records of Immature phase maintenance including monitoring
plant growth and disease detection processes.
-
Study to understand the transition of an Immature field to Mature field
with ORG policy on Opening the field.

Understanding the concept of plant density, both tapping & non-tapping
trees and implying the importance on the crop production.
-
Understanding fertilizer application concept during immature and mature
phase.

Monitoring Mature Plants:
-
Participate in maintenance audits, disease detection, and treatment
activities.
-
Assist in controlling compliance with planting and maintenance
standards.
-
Aid in the purchase, inspection, and recommendation of phytosanitary
products.
-
Agronomy Research and Development:
- Compile field history book with the production statistics.
-
Assess and support the existing Pest & Disease control processes in ORG
and verify the recommendation.
-
Understanding the Discriminatory fertilizer application concept and map
recommendations based on findings of leaf sampling and soil sampling
results.
- Organize the scheduled soil sampling activities in 2025.
- Prepare the monthly and annual agronomy reports for 2025.

Prepare a report on the mineral utilization and nutrient deficiency
through crop harvesting.

Weather Station Management:
- Monitor and record data from the weather station console.
- Support data transfer and reporting processes.

Assist in identifying climatic challenges and recommending corrective
measures.

Disease Research:
-
Monitor and document rubber plant diseases and assist in establishing a
phytosanitary monitoring process.
-
Aid in fertilizer sampling and dosage testing to determine appropriate
treatments.
Mentorship & Supervision:
The candidate will report to the Head of Agronomy.

Experience & Technical Skills:

Notable education [M.Sc. Agri (Seed science & technology)] and technical
proficiency in agronomic legislation with hand-on experience in a variety of
crops.
- Agri professional with a variety of exposure – 10 -15 years.
