About the role
Mobile Internet India Pvt Ltd (MIIPL) is a software company developing systems and software for commercial satellite industry. MIIPL is established in 2006, working on Satellite 3G and 4G technologies for clients who are major Internet service providers through satellite networks.
MIIPL is a small but sharp team working on mission critical projects for various clients in commercial satellite industry. MIIPL is specialized in Inmarsat BGAN (Broadband Global Area Network), GX (Global Express), Thuraya M2M, Echostar, VSAT and Iridium Satellite network systems.
MIIPL has its own product, Point of Presence (POP) that has critical systems like AAA servers, Custom Firewalls, Network Monitoring and testing tools, Satellite Terminal Traffic reporting tools to the distribution partners and service providers of internet through satellite. POP is a terrestrial internet gateway for commercial satellite communication networks.
MIIPL works with distribution partners to provide design consultancies, software and hardware solutions and 24x7 support & maintenance for Satellite ISPs.

2 Job Purpose
To design, configure and support MIL’s POP mission critical systems. Sr Network and Security Engineer will be working with highly skilled teams and delivering interesting and challenging networking aspects in POP under the guidance of Mobile Internet’s management team.
The candidate will be working closely with DevOps and QA teams creating and configuring network changes on POP.
Sr Network and Security Engineer will be responsible for designing, documenting, building, securing, supporting and maintaining MIL POP infrastructure at geographical location. Overall the purpose of Sr Network & Security Engineer is to create and maintain a robust, secure, and high-performing network infrastructure that enables the organization to operate effectively and securely in the digital landscape.

3 Key Responsibilities
- Create network design documents for MIL Internet Service Provider infrastructure
- Configure, harden, & install Cisco routers & switches
- Design, configure and maintain FortiGate devices
- Design traffic flows and configure VDOMs, policies in FortiGate
- Takes leadership initiative to negotiate and solve conflicts and Incidents
- Knowledge of advanced networking/routing protocols and concepts, network administration principles, and project management practices
- Experience configuring routing protocols and technologies such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VPN, IPSEC, ICMP, NAT/PAT, VRF, VPC, and MPLS
- Ability to analyze complex business problems and issues as it relates to global enterprise network infrastructure
- Knowledge of OSI Model practices, industry best practices related to routing, security, IDS/IPS, Sniffers, QOS, and ACLs
- Install and configure ESXi and VM instances. Sound knowledge of ESXi and VMWare technologies is expected
- Good understanding of RHEL is mandatory
- Secure network by enforcing policies; defining and monitoring access.
- Manage multiple perimeter firewalls to include application-level firewalls
- Interpret Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and apply them to appropriate network devices
- Coordinate and provide guidance to technical PoCs on desktop, network, and server hardening
- Analyse events and logs using security event management tools
- Identify, report, investigate and respond to security breaches and network incidents
- Assist with incident response, certification and accreditation activities (including documentation, scanning, mitigation activities, and identification of false positives), and Network security risk review
- Monitor, report, advise and design systems to enhance or to increase the security level of the environment and support the client’s mission
- Install, configure, and maintain all network devices in MIL’s Ahmedabad office site.
- Hands on experience of network troubleshooting tools, like Wireshark.
- Ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical people
- Excellent communications skills both verbally and in writing to all levels of employees
