Head of IT Infrastructure
Role Summary
The Head of IT Infrastructure is responsible for designing, implementing,
securing, and maintaining the organization’s technology infrastructure
across data centers, cloud environments, networks, on-prem systems, and
user computing. This leader ensures high availability, performance,
scalability, and security of IT services, while driving modernization
initiatives such as cloud adoption, automation, and zero-trust security
frameworks. The role emphasizes regulatory compliance, cost optimization,
and secure digital enablement for distributed branch operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership & Planning

Develop and execute the enterprise IT infrastructure strategy aligned
with business goals.

Lead infrastructure modernization initiatives (cloud migration, network
transformation, automation, etc.).

Establish long-term capacity planning, scalability, and resilience
objectives.
2. Infrastructure & Operations Management
- Oversee design, deployment, and maintenance of:
- Data centers and server environments
- Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and Hybrid
- Enterprise networks (LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, Wi-Fi)
- Storage and backup systems
- Virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V)
- End-user computing and device lifecycle management

Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) / Desktop-as-a-Service (DaaS) for
distributed branches and remote agents

Ensure 24x7 availability of critical IT systems with minimal downtime.
3. Cybersecurity & Compliance

Implement security best practices across infrastructure components.

Work closely with the CISO and security teams on zero-trust models,
access controls, patching, and threat mitigation.

Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (ISO 27001, RBI
guidelines, SOC 2, GDPR, etc.).
4. Cloud & Digital Transformation
- Lead hybrid and multi-cloud strategy implementation.

Drive DevOps and automation initiatives—Infrastructure as Code (IaC),
CI/CD support.
- Ensure hands-on expertise with Terraform for IaC.

Optimize cost, performance, and reliability across cloud and on-prem
workloads.
- FinOps practices for cloud cost governance and optimization.
5. Observability & Monitoring

Establish advanced observability frameworks (AIOps, ELK, Grafana).

Modernize NOC functions with predictive monitoring, anomaly detection,
and proactive remediation.
6. Vendor & Budget Management
-
Manage contracts with technology providers, OEMs, and service partners.

Oversee IT infrastructure budget, ensuring cost efficiency and ROI.

Evaluate and onboard new tools, technologies, and managed service
partners.
7. Leadership & Team Development
-
Lead a high-performing team of infrastructure engineers, network
specialists, cloud architects, and IT operations personnel.
- Define KPIs, SLAs, SOPs, and operational best practices.

Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and service
excellence.
8. Incident & Risk Management
-
Lead root cause analysis, incident response, and disaster recovery
processes.
- Own the enterprise Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and DR drills.
- Proactively identify and mitigate infrastructure risks.
Required Qualifications & Experience
12–20+ years of IT experience with at least 5+ years in infrastructure
leadership roles.
Strong technical expertise in:
- Cloud computing (Azure/AWS/GCP)
- Networking and security
- Data center and server operations
- Virtualization and container platforms
- Backup, DR, and high-availability architectures
- VDI/DaaS solutions for distributed workforce enablement
Proven experience managing large-scale enterprise infrastructure in
mission-critical environments.
Strong vendor, contract, and budget management skills.
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management
capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
Certifications: ITIL, AWS/Azure Architect, CCNP/CCIE, CISSP (optional).
Experience in regulated industries (BFSI, NBFC, etc.).
Exposure to DevOps, SRE practices, IT automation frameworks, and FinOps.
