Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced
Poultry Veterinarian
responsible for maintaining the health, welfare, and productivity of poultry
flocks. The role will focus on disease diagnosis and treatment, vaccination
programs, biosecurity, flock health monitoring, mortality reduction, and
providing veterinary guidance to improve overall poultry production
performance.
Key Responsibilities

Monitor the overall health and performance of
broiler and/or layer flocks
.

Conduct regular flock health inspections and identify signs of disease,
infection, stress, or abnormal behavior.

Diagnose poultry diseases through clinical examination, post-mortem
examination, laboratory testing, and other diagnostic techniques.

Develop and implement effective
vaccination and disease-prevention programs
.

Monitor vaccination effectiveness and maintain accurate vaccination
records.

Prescribe and administer appropriate medicines, antibiotics, vaccines, and
other veterinary treatments in accordance with applicable regulations.

Investigate and control outbreaks of infectious and contagious poultry
diseases.

Conduct post-mortem examinations and prepare reports to determine causes
of mortality.

Monitor flock mortality, morbidity, feed intake, water consumption, body
weight, egg production, FCR, and other key health and production
indicators.

Establish and maintain strict
biosecurity protocols
across poultry farms and production facilities.

Advise farm management on sanitation, disinfection, pest control, visitor
control, quarantine, and disease-prevention measures.

Work closely with farm managers and poultry production teams to identify
health-related factors affecting productivity.

Provide recommendations regarding poultry nutrition, water quality,
environmental conditions, ventilation, temperature, stocking density, and
overall flock management.

Monitor and control parasites and other health-related problems affecting
poultry.

Ensure responsible use of veterinary medicines and maintain proper
medication and withdrawal-period records.

Coordinate with external diagnostic laboratories, feed suppliers,
pharmaceutical companies, and other veterinary service providers when
required.

Maintain comprehensive records of flock health, treatments, vaccination,
mortality, laboratory results, and veterinary interventions.

Ensure compliance with applicable veterinary, food safety, animal welfare,
and poultry industry regulations.

Provide emergency veterinary support during disease outbreaks and other
critical flock-health situations.

Train and guide farm staff on poultry handling, disease recognition,
vaccination, medication, hygiene, and biosecurity practices.
