Job purpose

To ensure reliable operation of CNC/VMC machines by performing electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and breakdown repairs to minimize machine downtime.

Core Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot electrical faults in CNC/VMC machines, PLCs, control panels, sensors, and drives.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance as per schedule.
• Maintain servo drives, spindle motors, VFDs, HMI, and CNC controllers.
• Inspect wiring, relays, fuses, earthing, and safety interlocks.
• Attend emergency breakdowns and reduce machine downtime.
• Maintain maintenance logs, breakdown reports, and preventive maintenance records.
• Follow electrical safety standards and statutory requirements.

People Management

• Coordinate with production operators and maintenance team members.
• Guide operators on basic electrical precautions and machine care.
• Coordinate with external service engineers and vendors for major breakdowns.

Decision Making

• Identify electrical faults and determine corrective actions.
• Prioritize breakdowns based on production requirements.
• Recommend spare parts replacement and improvements to prevent recurring failures.
• Escalate major electrical issues requiring specialized support.

Key Result areas

• Minimize electrical breakdowns and machine downtime.
• Complete preventive maintenance as per schedule.
• Improve CNC/VMC machine availability and reliability.
• Reduce recurring electrical failures through root cause analysis.
