POSITION SUMMARY:
The Inside Sales Specialist is responsible for providing a high degree of service to customers by ensuring responsive communication, timely and accurate entry and documentation of information, internal and external coordination, and all activities related to supporting exceptional customer service, quality, and on-time delivery goals.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBLIITIES:
· Demonstrates company values and supports organizational commitments to safety, quality, productivity, and a high-performance workforce through positive employee relations.
· Interfaces with customers verbally, virtually, and in writing to obtain and understand customer requirements and define customer’s technical needs through review of drawings, specifications, and supporting documentation.
· Reads and analyzes customer drawings to extract specifications required for accurate quoting and manufacturing of products, and effective communication with internal engineering team.
· Interacts with customers and internal departments to manage quote and order activity, delivery updates, expedited projects, quality requirements, stocking agreements, and other customer requirements while meeting company objectives.
· Generates accurate and timely quotations and order entry utilizing ERP systems, quote tools, drawings, and technical specifications, following internal processes to share information through documentation to ensure complete, accurate, and timely communication of information.
· Manages requests for quote activities through HubSpot (internal customer relationship management software), ensuring timely and accurate entry of information and statusing of RFQs/Deals.
· Follows up on outstanding quotations, provides clarification, updates quote status, and supports order closure activities to achieve booking objectives.
· Manages customer-related projects including repairs, warranties, CMAs, and standard orders
· Manages customer purchasing portals and coordinates invoicing and shipping activities through customer portal systems. from initiation through completion.
· Serves as the primary liaison between customers and internal functions including Engineering, Planning, Manufacturing, Shipping, and Accounting ensuring proactive, timely and effective communication to meet customer and company requirements.
· Provides backup support for other Inside Sales Specialists during periods of high activity or absence.
· Participate in sales meetings, conference calls, training sessions, and other required business activities.
· Occasionally travel to customer locations as needed to support customer requirements, attend meetings, and conduct business-related activities (typically less than 5% travel).
General Responsibilities:
· Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support company objectives.
· Meets attendance and on-site presence requirements necessary to build positive working relationships and support business needs.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Work Experience Required:
· Minimum of five (5) years of customer service or inside sales experience in a manufacturing environment required.
· Minimum of three (3) years of proven experience with interpretation of technical drawings and understanding technical product specifications
Work Experience Preferred:
· Experience in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machine operations and manufacturing processes such as precision machining and fabrication.
· Experience in a custom design/manufacturing/job shop environment.
· Experience supporting injection molding and/or extrusion industries.
· Experience supporting OEM, processor, or key customer accounts within a manufacturing environment.
Education and Skills:
· Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or Diploma Mechanical required.
· Degree in Business Administration or related field is beneficial.
· Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment is essential.
· Ability to read, interpret and extract applicable technical details from drawings and understand and communicate technical specifications is required.
· Exceptional organizational and detail-orientation skills to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of information that impacts company profitability, including manufacturing and pricing accuracy.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
· Proficient using ERP systems and CRM software for RFQ, quote, order entry, research, and information management.
· Demonstrated sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines.
· Strong relationship management, negotiation, and facilitation skills.
· Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
· Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English; additional language skills may be required based on assigned region.
· Ability and willingness to maintain knowledge of company products, applications, markets, and customer base.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Ability to sit and utilize a computer for up to eight hours per day.
· Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout office and manufacturing environments for extended periods.
· Ability to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally.
· Ability to hear, speak, read, and understand English to communicate effectively with employees, customers, agencies, and vendors. Additional language requirements may apply based on territory served.
· Ability to meet travel requirements, including driving, flying, and navigating airports and customer facilities. Travel is typically less than 5%.
