General Manager - B2B Health Insurance
Reports to
Deputy Vice President- Head Central Banca Strategy
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Job Summary:
To lead and drive B2B Health Insurance business growth by managing partner relationships, underwriting coordination, operation governance and business profitability across Banca and institutional partnership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operations and underwriting management
- Drive underwriting strategy for B2B health insurance business across group segments
- Ensure profitable portfolio management through effective risk assessment and pricing governance.
- Monitor underwriting quality, loss ratios, and portfolio performance across partners and products.
- Approve and review non-standard and large-ticket underwriting cases within authority limits.
- Collaborate with sales and product teams for customized partner solutions and competitive offerings.
- Drive automation and digitization in underwriting processes to improve TAT and customer experience.
- Ensure adherence to defined SLA/TAT commitments for all B2B partners.
- Drive operational efficiency, productivity, and process optimization initiatives.
- Strengthen governance framework with sales team through regular reviews and MIS.
- Partner with Sales, Claims, Product, Technology, and Finance teams for seamless execution.
- Driving Renewal Portfolio in coordination with B2B Sales Team Business & Strategy
- Support achievement of business growth targets while maintaining underwriting discipline.
- Analyze market trends, competition, and portfolio performance to recommend strategic interventions.
- Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing operations teams.
Key Requirements – Education & Certificates
- Strong understanding of health insurance underwriting and operations.
- Expertise in B2B / Bancassurance & Brokers.
- Portfolio and risk management capabilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
- Operational excellence and process transformation mindset.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- MBA / PGDM preferred.
- Graduate in any discipline from a recognized university.
Key Requirements - Experience & Skills (Must have)
12–18+ years of experience in Health Insurance operations and underwriting.
Prior experience managing B2B partnerships, banca, brokers, or institutional channels preferred.
