Job Title: Deputy Manager – Manufacturing Plant
Department: Finance & Accounts
Reporting To: General Manager Finance Manager
Location: [AVS Tema Plant]
Job Purpose:
To ensure accurate and timely accounting, reporting, and compliance of all financial
transactions related to plant operations, including procurement, production, inventory, payroll,
and vendor management. The role supports smooth day-to-day accounting and provides
financial insights for effective cost control and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Accounting & Book keeping
Maintain accurate books of accounts in ERP/SAP/Tally (or relevant accounting system).
Manage and reconcile general ledger, sub-ledgers, and intercompany accounts.
Record all financial transactions including purchase, sales, expenses, and journal entries.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
Handling customs matters and bonded warehouse operations include Bonded
Warehouse Stock & Duty Reconciliation.
2. Payables & Receivables
Maintain customer accounts, track receivables, and prepare customer reconciliation
statements and resolve discrepancies.
Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payments as per credit terms.
Prepare vendor reconciliation statements and resolve discrepancies.
3. Inventory & Cost Accounting
Coordinate with the stores and production departments for accurate inventory records.
Verify material issue, consumption, and closing stock.
Assist in preparation of cost sheets and analysis of production cost variances.
4. Banking & Treasury Operations
Handle daily banking operations including deposits, payments, and fund transfers.
Prepare bank reconciliations and maintain cash flow statements.
Support treasury functions and ensure sufficient working capital availability.
5. Statutory Compliance
Assist in preparation and filing of statutory returns – VAT, WHT, PAYE, Social Security,
etc.
Ensure compliance with internal controls and audit requirements.
Coordinate with internal and external auditors for timely completion of audits.
6. Reporting
Prepare monthly trial balance, P&L, and balance sheet schedules.
Support in preparation of plant-level MIS reports and variance analysis.
Provide timely reports to management on financial and operational performance.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce & CA intermediate
Minimum 5–10 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing or industrial
environment.
Strong knowledge of cost accounting and inventory management.
Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software (Tally, SAP, QuickBooks, or ERP
system).
Key Skills:

Good understanding of accounting principles and taxation.
Effective communication and coordination skills.
Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
