General Sales Manager – Paper Industry

Minimum 15+ years of relevant experience in the Paper Industry
Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the overall Sales, Marketing and Business Development
function.

Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve revenue, volume and
profitability objectives.

Handle sales of Writing & Printing Paper, Newsprint or Tissue Paper
across institutional, corporate, dealer, distributor and government
channels.

Develop new markets, key accounts and strategic business relationships.

Lead Government Tender / E-Tender participation, including identification of
suitable tenders, tender documentation, technical/commercial submissions,
bidding, negotiations and order follow-up.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with government departments, PSUs,
institutional buyers and major corporate customers.

Lead pricing strategy, commercial negotiations and major customer closures.

Oversee sales team performance, sales targets, market coverage and business
development activities.

Monitor market trends, competitor pricing, demand patterns and developments
in the paper industry.

Coordinate with production, supply chain, dispatch and finance teams to
ensure effective order execution and timely collections.

Prepare sales forecasts, budgets, MIS and business performance reports for
senior management.

Drive customer acquisition, retention, collections and overall sales
profitability.

Lead and mentor the sales team to achieve organizational business
objectives.
Candidate Profile

Minimum 15+ years of relevant experience in Paper Industry Sales, preferably
in a senior sales/leadership role.

Must have strong experience in Writing & Printing Paper, Newsprint or
Tissue Paper.

Mandatory experience in Government Tender Participation / E-Tendering.

Proven experience in handling government tenders from tender identification
through bidding, negotiation and order execution.

Strong network among government organizations, PSUs, institutional buyers,
dealers, distributors and corporate clients will be an advantage.

Strong understanding of paper industry markets, pricing, commercial
practices and distribution channels.

Excellent leadership, negotiation, business development and strategic
planning skills.

Willingness to travel extensively for business development, tenders and
customer meetings.
