Sr Manager R&D

Key Responsibilities Strategic & Business Leadership • Develop and execute the R&D strategy aligned with business objectives, customer requirements, and global development priorities. • Provide strategic scientific and technical leadership to support sustainable business growth and operational excellence. • Serve as a key member of the site leadership team, contributing to organizational strategy, investment planning, and long-term capability development. • Develop departmental budgets, resource plans, and talent strategies to support future growth. • Drive productivity, scalability, and performance across development functions while ensuring alignment with organizational goals. • Build capabilities that support the future expansion of global development services and scientific offerings. Scientific & Technical Leadership • Provide expert leadership in peptide chemistry, process development, analytical sciences, scale-up, purification technologies, and manufacturing support. • Drive the development of robust, scalable, and commercially viable manufacturing processes for peptide APIs from early development through commercialization. • Lead scientific evaluations of emerging technologies, manufacturing platforms, automation opportunities, and innovative development approaches. • Establish technical excellence standards across all development activities while ensuring scientific rigor and data integrity. • Support complex product development programs, including GLP-1 and other advanced peptide therapeutics. Portfolio & Program Management • Lead a diverse portfolio of customer and internal development projects from early-stage development through commercial manufacturing. • Ensure effective prioritization and allocation of resources across multiple programs. • Drive project execution excellence through defined milestones, risk management, performance tracking, and stakeholder communication. • Monitor portfolio performance through scientific, operational, and commercial KPIs. Technology Transfer & Commercialization • Lead internal and external technology transfer programs across development and manufacturing organizations. • Ensure seamless transition of development programs into GMP manufacturing operations. • Establish scalable development platforms that accelerate project delivery and commercial readiness. • Partner with cross-functional teams to support successful product launches and lifecycle management activities. • Facilitate technical decision-making throughout the product development lifecycle. Innovation & Platform Development • Foster a culture of scientific innovation, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. • Drive the evaluation and implementation of emerging technologies in peptide synthesis, purification, analytical sciences, and manufacturing. • Identify opportunities to strengthen the organization's competitive advantage through platform technologies and innovative development solutions. • Monitor industry trends relating to peptides, peptide conjugates, oligonucleotides, GLP-1 products, and other emerging therapeutic modalities. • Promote intellectual property generation and scientific knowledge development. Customer & External Engagement • Serve as the scientific ambassador of the organization for customers, regulatory agencies, auditors, and strategic partners.
