General Manager – Transport

A General Manager (GM) of Transport oversees the strategic and daily operations of a logistics or
transport company. They hold full P&L accountability, lead fleet management, drive route optimization,
and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

We are looking for a professional General Manager (GM) - Transport oversees end-to-end freight
operations, fleet management, and logistics strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
Fleet & Transport Operations: Manage the daily dispatch, maintenance, and routing of the transport fleet.
Monitor telematics and vehicle utilization to reduce downtime and fuel consumption.
Supply Chain Integration: Align transport schedules with procurement, warehousing, and sales to maintain
a smooth flow of goods. Implement supply chain best practices to reduce bottlenecks and lead times.
Financial Oversight: Hold complete P&L responsibility for the transport division. Develop departmental
budgets, negotiate contracts with third-party logistics (3PL) providers, and approve high-value tenders.
Risk & Compliance: Enforce local/international transport laws, driver regulations, and workplace safety
guidelines.
Stakeholder Relations: Negotiate contracts with shipping vendors, suppliers, and key corporate clients to
optimize service levels (SLAs).
Oversee Vehicle Maintenance: Overseeing and enforcing strict PM schedules, repair and maintenance
budget.
Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and mentor staff, including drivers, mechanics, and logistics coordinators.
