Job Purpose:
To lead and oversee end-to-end plant operations, ensuring efficient
production, optimal resource utilization, cost control, quality compliance,
and timely delivery. The role is responsible for driving operational
excellence, productivity improvement, and alignment with business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plant Operations Management
-
Oversee daily manufacturing operations including production, maintenance,
quality, and supply chain.

Ensure smooth functioning of plant activities to meet production targets.

Implement best practices to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
2. Production Planning & Control
-
Develop and execute production plans in line with business requirements.
-
Monitor production schedules and ensure timely delivery.
-
Optimize manpower, machinery, and materials.
3. Cost Control & Profitability
-
Monitor operational costs and drive cost reduction initiatives.
-
Analyze production costs and implement cost-saving measures.
-
Improve overall plant profitability through efficiency improvements.
4. Inventory & Supply Chain Management
-
Ensure optimal inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods.
-
Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams.

Minimize wastage and improve inventory turnover.
5. Quality & Compliance
-
Ensure adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements.
-
Implement quality control systems and continuous improvement practices.
-
Maintain compliance with local laws, safety, and environmental
regulations.
6. Maintenance & Engineering
-
Oversee preventive and breakdown maintenance activities.
-
Ensure optimal machine utilization and reduce downtime.

Coordinate with engineering teams for upgrades and improvements.
7. Team Leadership & Development
-
Lead, mentor, and manage cross-functional teams.
-
Build a high-performance culture and ensure workforce productivity.

Conduct performance reviews and training initiatives.
8. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
-
Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and HSE standards.
-
Promote a safe working environment across the plant.

Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments.
9. Reporting & MIS
-
Monitor KPIs and prepare operational reports.
-
Provide insights to management for strategic decision-making.
-
Drive data-based performance tracking.
Qualifications & Experience:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Operations / Industrial Management (MBA
preferred).

12–18 years of experience
in manufacturing operations.
-
Minimum
5+ years in leadership role
-
Experience in
African markets (preferred but not mandatory)
