Sarathi i-Rise Platform LLP
Job Description
Project Manager - Technology (Vendor Delivery)
Lower Parel, Mumbai | Full-time
About I-Rise
I-Rise is building the digital backbone for capital formation in four of
India's largest but most unorganized sectors - real estate, infrastructure,
social infrastructure, and energy. These industries move billions every year,
yet still raise capital through personal contacts, spreadsheets, and opaque,
relationship-driven processes.
Our founding team has deep, on-ground experience in these sectors. We are
using technology, AI, and that domain expertise to bring structure,
transparency, and speed to how capital is raised and deployed, through our
platform built on an intelligent matching engine.
About the Role
We are looking to hire an in-house Project Manager with a strong technical
background - someone who can plan and track the project, understand and review
the vendor's architecture and code, and ensure that what is being delivered is
correct, on time, and of good quality.
We are looking for a Project Manager who can convert that Product direction
into clear specifications, hold the vendor accountable to a plan, and use
their own hands-on engineering background to independently judge the quality
and soundness of what the vendor is building.
The ideal candidate has walked the path of developer to team lead, and is now
ready to take on project ownership and vendor management as the next step -
staying close enough to the technology to ask the right questions, review code
and design decisions, and spot problems early.
What You'll Do
Project & Delivery Management
•
Own end-to-end planning and tracking of the outsourced development project -
scope, timelines, milestones, and budget.
•
Translate business and product requirements from the Founder and stakeholders
into clear, unambiguous specifications and user stories for the vendor.
•
Run sprint planning, stand-ups, demos, and retrospectives with the vendor
team; maintain the backlog and project trackers (Jira / Trello / Asana or
similar).
•
Track progress against plan, proactively flag slippage or risk, and drive
issues to resolution.
•
Manage scope changes, change requests, and coordinate on contracts / SOWs with
the vendor alongside management.
•
Prepare regular status reports and dashboards for leadership on delivery
progress, risks, and vendor performance.
Technical Oversight
•
Review the vendor's architecture, technical design decisions, and code at a
level sufficient to independently judge quality, security, and scalability.
•
Understand the platform's data model, APIs, and integrations well enough to
spot gaps, inconsistencies, or shortcuts in the vendor's approach.
•
Set and enforce engineering and delivery standards (code review norms,
testing, documentation) in collaboration with the vendor.
•
Act as the primary technical point of contact between the company and the
external development team.
What We're Looking For
Career Background
•
A career path that has moved from hands-on software developer, to team lead /
engineering lead managing a small team, and is now ready for (or already
working in) a project management / delivery management capacity.
•
Roughly 6-9 years of total experience, with meaningful time spent actually
writing production code before moving into leadership.
•
Prior experience leading or mentoring a small engineering team is important -
this is what gives the judgment to manage an external team credibly is good to
have, but not necessary for this profile.
Required Skills
•
Strong, hands-on foundation in software engineering - solid understanding of
web application architecture, APIs, databases, and modern development
practices, even if not writing production code day to day in this role.
•
Demonstrated experience managing external vendors, agencies, or outsourced
development teams - not just internal teams.
•
Working knowledge of Agile / Scrum delivery, sprint planning, and standard
project tracking tools.
•
Ability to read code and technical designs critically, ask pointed questions,
and tell good engineering practice from a shortcut.
•
Strong written and verbal communication skills - able to write clear specs and
hold vendors accountable firmly and professionally.
•
Comfortable operating with a high degree of ownership, speed, and ambiguity in
a small, founder-led team.
Good to Have
•
Exposure to fintech, capital markets, lending, or real estate / infrastructure
technology.
•
A formal project management certification (PMP, PSM, CSM, or similar).
•
Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (e.g. Claude Code, GitHub
Copilot) - useful for understanding how the vendor's team is building.
Our Tech Stack
The platform is being built by on the stack below. You are not expected to
build on this stack day to day but should be comfortable enough with it to
review the vendor's work and ask informed questions.
•
Frontend: Next.js 14 (App Router) with TypeScript, Tailwind CSS for UI
styling.
•
Backend: NestJS (TypeScript), exposing REST APIs and handling business logic.
•

Prisma as the ORM.
•
Auth & storage: Supabase Auth for JWT-based authentication, and Supabase
Storage for document/file uploads.
•

Why This Role
•
Work directly with the Founder, with high trust and real ownership from day
one.
•
Fast decision-making - in a small, founder-led team, your calls get
implemented in days, not stuck in committee.
•
Own technical delivery and vendor management for a foundational platform, with
a clear path to a larger technical program management role as the company
grows.
•
A front-row seat to how a fintech platform is architected and scaled
end-to-end - valuable experience for anyone aiming toward a CTO or Head of
Delivery track.
•
Build something foundational - you will be early on a platform aiming to
become the financial infrastructure for the sectors that build India.
•
Our promoters already run a successful real estate business (Eka Life) and are
launching an Alternate Investment Fund (AIF) - I-Rise Fund - you will work
with an experienced team with strong growth opportunities within the company.
