GENERAL MANAGER POTABLE SPIRIT (P&L RESPONSIBILITY) Kakira Distillery Limited, a member of the Madhvani Group, is part of a leading international, professionally managed industrial and services conglomerate with diversified operations across East Africa. Kakira Distillery Limited is engaged in the marketing, sales, and distribution of a range of premium bottled potable spirits manufactured by Kakira Sugar Limited, including award-winning gins, rums, and vodkas is looking for General Manager – Potable Spirits (P&L Responsibility). Located at Kampala Uganda the incumbent will be reporting To Board of Directors is responsible for end-to-end leadership and full Profit & Loss (P&L) accountability of the Potable Spirits business in Uganda and selected East African markets. The role ensures profitable growth while maintaining strict compliance with excise laws, URA requirements, and regional regulatory frameworks. Key Responsibilities • Formulate and execute business strategies aligned with Uganda and East Africa market dynamics. • Prepare annual operating plans, budgets, and rolling forecasts. • Identify opportunities for portfolio expansion, new SKUs, and regional market penetration (EAC countries). • Own complete P&L responsibility, including topline growth, excise cost management, operating margins, and cash flow. • Develop and implement state-wise / territory-wise pricing and route-tomarket strategies considering excise and tax structures. • Manage distributor and sub-distributor networks across Uganda. • Strengthen brand equity through responsible marketing and trade activation within regulatory limits. • Build and lead a strong, multi-cultural leadership team across functions. • Maintain strong internal controls, audit compliance, and corporate governance. The candidate should be a graduate with an MBA in Marketing or Finance, having a minimum of 20 years of relevant experience in a similar role, with proven expertise in managing potable spirits businesses.
