Job Description Job Objective
Job Title Manager Engineering – Soya and Biscuits

The purpose of the position is to assist Head of Engineering to ensure
Soya and biscuit plant maintenance services are available at their
optimum efficiency with minimal downtime.

Main Responsibilities Key Performance Indicators / KPIs

▪ Responsible for complete Engineering and projects related activities as site lead engineering for the
Soya and Biscuit plant
▪ Assist for the optimum operational performance of the plant, machinery and equipment.
▪ Suggest, coordinate and implement development and modification activities for productivity increase
and cost reduction etc.
▪ Prepare the annual maintenance plan and preventive maintenance plans of both plants.
▪ Supervising staffs during electrical/mechanical maintenance and providing guidance for efficient
output.
▪ Participate and minimize OEE losses for the improvement of productivity.
▪ Identify critical equipment, spare parts and relevant machinery as standby.
▪ Ensure minimal downtime by planning and taking preventive and corrective actions at all production
lines.
▪ To ensure smooth functioning of the production department and ensure uninterrupted supply of
utilities by effectively managing teams and supplier interactions.
▪ Make an assessment for the frequency of maintenance as a preventive measure.
▪ Make an analysis of preventive work as how it has been helping in improving machine performance.
▪ To create a highly skilled engineering team by conducting on-the-job trainings, theoretical and
practical.
▪ To maximize performance and productivity of engineering staff by guiding, directing and training.
▪ Assist the organizing and executing of proper maintenance / assembling of all factory plant,
machinery and equipment.
▪ Responsible for installation and commissioning of all new equipment at the Soya and Biscuit plant
▪ Ensuring upkeep of all utilities equipment (Compressors, boilers etc)

▪ Minimize equipment downtime during the shift to below 3% of total
shift time.
▪ Achieve 100% completion of preventive maintenance tasks
assigned on a 24 hour basis.
▪ Ensure that the average response time for unplanned maintenance
issues is within 30 minutes.
▪ Achieve 97% or higher equipment availability during the shift.
▪ Maintain a technician utilization rate of 90% or higher during the
shift.

Skills/Experience/Skill required
Education Required
Minimum BE in Mechanical Engineering/Electrical Engineering
7-10 years of experience in engineering sections of FMCGs (Preferably
Soya and Biscuit industry)
