Job description for: Quality Assurance Manager/ Assistant Manager

Job Summay.
This position is a detail-oriented managerial role, to ensure the smooth function of Quality Assurance
activities in manufacturing lines and generate a consistently suitable quality output of products that meet
customer expectations and standards. The position should understand the business needs and requirements
and coordinates employee efforts and communications between management and the production teams.
Rresponsibilities will include performing some business administration and human resource duties, should
have excellent communication and listening skills, with strong observational, analytical, and problem-solving
skills. should understand regulatory compliance and must be skilled in understanding scientific and technical
data.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
May oversee Quality assurance Operations for the Yogurt plant.
Oversees the daily workflow of the department and sharing on time reports with immediate
supervisor.
Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations for the team members.
Arranging necessary training for the team members.
Conducting Root cause analysis for the incidents and finding the causes, establishing corrective
actions.
Leading the Yogurt R&D team and related activities.
Thorough understating and establishing Food safety practices, 5S, GLP, TQM, and SOC, GMP and
HACCP across the operations.
General Duties/Responsibilities:
Gaining an understanding of the Quality assurance to the business needs and requirements and
communicating them along with quality standards to the teams.
Devising ways to improve the entire yogurt manufacturing process to ensure higher-quality goods.

Devising, improving, and reviewing new specifications and procedures for products, Raw materials,
Packaging materials or processes, and on job training for the staffs to understand them.
Setting the requirements for raw materials and packing materials from suppliers and monitoring their
compliance.
Supervising inspectors, technicians, and other staff members and providing guidance.
Ensuring legal obligations are followed and ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies and with
health and safety guidelines.
Overseeing value engineering for product and procedures to improve, without any deviations from
quality standards.
Inspecting the final output, comparing it to the requirements, and approving or rejecting the final
products.
Keeping accurate documentation and performing statistical analysis.
Gaining feedback from the clients, attending business meetings, submitting reports, and handling
external auditors and regulatory inspectors as and when needed.

Major KPls:
ZERO customer complaint.
Reduction of losses (All RM, PM and FG).
Meeting Quality targets for Daily !weekly / Monthly Production target.
Increasing productivity of Quality Assurance Department.
Maintain Quality target as per organizational KPI.
Maintain and reduce manhour and chemical uses.
Managing cost of laboratory functions (CAPEX and OPEX both).
Ensure Good laboratory practices and promoting Zero accident.
Area of Responsibility:
Dairy Gold Yogurt Plant Quality assurance department (working area includes all laboratories and
entire production line lines which includes processing area, filling lines, Incubation area, Cold room,
RM and PM storage area, Hygiene stations etc) the associated areas related to Quality assurance
department.
Any other area where organization may assign as per the business requirements.

Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Thorough understanding of test methods, procedures, process and GLP.
Thorough understanding of Chemical and Microbiological aspects of Dairy Products especially
Fermented dairy products like, Yogurt, Drinking yogurt, long life yogurt drinks etc.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficient with ERP and Computer skills.
Having LEAN Manufacturing certification, and Quality Auditor certification will be an added advantage.

Education and Experience:
04 years BSc / MSc and BTech / MTech in Food or Dairy Technology, with minimum 12-15 years of
working experience in Quality assurance department (minimum 05years' experience on managerial
role).
At least two years' practical experience of working as lab technician/ Chemist/ Microbiologist level is
needed.

Other Requirements:
Working experience at Dairy industry will be given preference(With exposure to fermented products
and UHT process).
Must have thorough knowledge and in hand experience of all laboratory instruments and testing
methods.

General Duty Hours:
8:00 AM to 6:00PM (Including 01 Hour lunch break, Duty hours and timings may be changed as per
business need).
Weekly off- As per management guidelines and business requirements.
