1. Position Summary
The Trading & Exports Sales Manager is responsible for spearheading the
international growth of Modern Plastic Industry. This role involves managing
the global distribution network, identifying new market opportunities across
the MENA region and beyond, and ensuring the seamless execution of
international trade operations. The incumbent will balance strategic market
development with the technical complexities of the plastic piping and
building materials industry.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Strategic Market Development

Geographic Expansion: Identify and penetrate new international markets,
with a focus on Africa, the GCC, and South Asia.

Market Intelligence: Conduct comprehensive research on competitor pricing,
local building codes, and emerging construction trends in target export
countries.

Product Positioning: Drive the adoption of MPI brands (e.g., ATLAS,
FLOWTECH) by positioning them as high-quality, certified solutions for MEP
(Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) contractors.
B. Channel & Distributor Management

Network Growth: Appoint, onboard, and manage a robust network of
international distributors and trading partners.

Performance Monitoring: Establish KPIs for distributors and conduct
quarterly performance reviews to ensure sales targets are met.

Sales Enablement: Provide technical training and marketing collateral to
international partners to ensure they can effectively represent MPI's
product range (UPVC, CPVC, PP-R, etc.).
C. Export Operations & Compliance

Logistics Oversight: Coordinate with the supply chain and shipping
departments to ensure timely dispatch and delivery of goods.

Documentation Mastery: Ensure 100% compliance with international trade
documentation, including Letters of Credit (L/Cs), Bills of Lading,
Certificates of Origin, and SASO/Saber requirements.

Certification Compliance: Verify that products exported meet the specific
regulatory and quality standards of the destination country (e.g., Kite
Mark, WRAS, DVGW).
D. Financial & Operational Management

Forecasting: Provide monthly and annual sales forecasts to production
teams to ensure adequate stock availability for export orders.

Credit Control: Manage the credit limits and payment cycles of
international clients, ensuring minimal overdue payments and healthy cash
flow.

Pricing Strategy: Work with the management team to define competitive
export pricing models that account for fluctuating raw material (resin)
costs and logistics expenses.
3. Candidate Requirements
Education & Experience

Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or
Engineering (Mechanical/Chemical preferred).

Experience: Minimum of 8 – 12 years in Sales/Business Development, with at
least 5 years specifically in Export Sales within the building materials
or plastics industry.

Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in opening new international
territories and managing large-scale distribution networks.
Technical Competencies

Product Knowledge: Strong understanding of thermoplastic piping systems
(Pressure and Drainage), valves, and fittings.

Trade Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Incoterms 2020, export financing,
and international shipping regulations.

Systems: Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft
Office Suite.
Soft Skills

Cultural Intelligence: Ability to negotiate and build relationships across
diverse cultures and business environments.

Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in
English; Arabic or French is a significant advantage.

Analytical Thinking: Ability to interpret market data and translate it
into actionable sales strategies.
4. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Annual Sales Growth: Percentage increase in total export revenue.

New Market Entry: Number of successful new distributor appointments in
untapped regions.

Average Collection Period: Efficiency in managing accounts receivable for
international clients.

Margin Maintenance: Success in achieving Gross Profit targets per region.
5. Travel Requirements
This role requires frequent international travel (up to 40-50%) to visit
distributors, attend trade shows, and conduct project site inspections.
