Purpose of the role
To support the organisation, achieve its strategic objectives by the
identification of business requirements and solutions that address business
problems and opportunities.
Accountabilities

Identification and analysis of business problems and client requirements
that require change within the organisation.

solutions are delivered within the agreed scope.

implemented and embedded in the organisation.

Join us as a Lead Business Analyst at Barclays, where you will play a critical
leadership role in shaping and delivering large‑scale transformation across US
payments and corporate banking platforms. In this role, you will operate at
the intersection of business strategy, regulatory compliance, and technology
delivery, ensuring complex initiatives are translated into clear, executable,
and value‑driven outcomes.
You will lead front‑to‑back business analysis across highly regulated US
environments, embedding new ways of working and supporting product‑led
delivery models. Acting as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, you will
provide clarity through ambiguity, align diverse priorities, and ensure
regulatory, operational, and customer outcomes are met with precision and
pace.
To be successful as a Lead Business Analyst, you should have experience with:

Driving US payments and regulatory initiatives end‑to‑end, with hands‑on
experience across payment schemes and infrastructures such as ACH, Wires,
SWIFT, RTP, FedNow, ISO 20022 or adjacent clearing and settlement
platforms, ensuring solutions meet both business objectives and regulatory
expectations.

Operating within New Ways of Working (Agile / Product‑centric models),
including ownership of complex backlogs, shaping hypotheses and outcomes,
leading refinement and prioritisation discussions, and enabling iterative
delivery across multi‑disciplinary teams.

Front‑to‑back business analysis leadership, encompassing current‑state
assessment, future‑state design, operating model impacts, control
considerations, and alignment to enterprise and regulatory architecture.

Senior stakeholder engagement and influence, including working with US
business heads, technology leads, risk and compliance partners, and
operations leadership to drive decisions, manage trade‑offs, and maintain
momentum on complex initiatives.

Translating strategy into execution, ensuring regulatory change, payments
modernisation, or platform enhancements are broken down into consumable,
traceable and value‑focused deliveries for engineering and delivery teams.
Some other highly valued skills may include:

Strong understanding of US regulatory and risk frameworks, including
interaction with control functions and embedding regulatory requirements
into business and technology change.

Proven experience acting as a lead or practice senior Business Analyst,
setting standards, coaching analysts, and ensuring consistency and quality
of analysis across programmes.

Depth in payments domain processes, including client journeys, exception
handling, reconciliation, settlement, and operational resilience
considerations.

Advanced capability in data‑driven analysis, using metrics, insights, and
evidence to shape solution options, regulatory responses, and investment
decisions.

Experience working closely with engineering and architecture teams, ensuring
business intent is clearly represented in functional and non‑functional
requirements without over‑specification.
