Purpose of the role
To lead and manage engineering teams, providing technical guidance,
mentorship, and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality software
solutions, driving technical excellence, fostering a culture of innovation,
and collaborating with cross-functional teams to align technical decisions
with business objectives.
Accountabilities

Lead engineering teams effectively, fostering a collaborative and

organizational objectives.

Oversee timelines, team allocation, risk management and task
prioritization to ensure the successful delivery of solutions within
scope, time, and budget.

Mentor and support team members' professional growth, conduct
performance reviews, provide actionable feedback, and identify
opportunities for improvement.

Evaluation and enhancement of engineering processes, tools, and
methodologies to increase efficiency, streamline workflows, and optimize
team productivity.

Collaboration with business partners, product managers, designers, and
other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical
solutions and ensure a cohesive approach to product development.

Enforcement of technology standards, facilitate peer reviews, and

To be successful as a DCF Lead, you should have experience with:

Strong polyglot engineering experience across application and systems
programming languages such as C, C++, Rust, Java, .NET, and
Python.

Expertise in designing, building, and operating High Performance
Computing (HPC) and distributed computing platforms.
-
Experience with HPC technologies such as IBM Symphony, DataSynapse,
Root, MPI, or equivalent grid computing frameworks.
-
Strong understanding of Linux, operating systems, networking, and
infrastructure engineering.
-
Experience building scalable compute platforms on containerized and
cloud-based environments.
-
Strong analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder management, and
communication skills.
-
Experience collaborating with engineering leadership and application
teams to ensure platform compliance with security, controls, monitoring,
and capacity management standards.
Some other highly valued skills include:

Experience within Investment Banking, Market Risk, or Wholesale Risk
technology.

Knowledge of numerical computing, optimization techniques, and
statistical modelling.

Experience with GPU-based computing and acceleration frameworks.
-
Understanding of large-scale risk calculation platforms and
regulatory initiatives such as Basel IV.

Experience designing shared platform services and engineering
infrastructure consumed by multiple application teams.
