Data engineer/Architect -Lead

Experience: 15+ years (including 5+ years in Banking / Financial Markets) 

Role Overview 

We are seeking a Lead Data Engineer / Data Architect to drive the design and development of strategic, scalable, and future-ready data solutions. The role involves leading end-to-end data architecture initiatives, modernising legacy systems, and aligning data practices with regulatory and business standards. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Data Platform Modernisation: Lead the migration to PostgreSQL , delivering optimised, testable, and robust solutions across multiple domains — including trading, audit, user setup, and event tracking.
• Analytical Ecosystem Improvement: Identify and implement ClickHouse and other modern BI/off-the-shelf technologies to enhance current analytics stacks.
• Technology Rationalisation: Drive the replacement of bespoke in-house systems with industry-standard data orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow and Apache NiFi .
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with peer technology squads and the CISO Office to ensure compliance, performance, and security are at the forefront of all solutions.
• Strategic Leadership: Set long-term data architecture vision and standards, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture, regulatory requirements, and innovation goals. 

Required Skills & Experience 

• 15+ years of total experience in data engineering, data architecture, or related roles.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in banking or financial markets , with deep understanding of data governance and regulatory compliance.
• Proven track record of leading data migrations, architecture transformations, and enterprise-scale projects.
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, Airflow, NiFi, Kafka, Python, and ETL frameworks .
• Expertise in data modelling, performance tuning, and distributed data systems.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
