Roles & responsibilities
We are recruiting for a Consultant\Assistant in the Research and
Benchmarking Team. your responsibilities will include:
•
Connect with research and benchmarking users (advisory practitioners
from KPMG member firms) to understand project objectives, scope, and
deliverables, particularly in the Financial Services (FS) or BFSI
sectors
•
Effectively manage the request intake process including participating in
project scoping calls to clarify understanding and prepare a detailed
project scope document capability
•
Conceive, design, and execute secondary research on: Deals confidently
with challenges by responding with a rationale to support their argument
•
PoVs and Thought Leaderships on sub-sectors and themes and other bespoke
research projects within the FS and other sectors
•
Company: business model, segments, revenue model, strategy, issues /
challenges, M&A history, competitive positioning, organization
structure, key management, recent developments, SWOT, etc.
•
Market: industry value chain, size and growth outlook, trends and drivers,
growth inhibitors and challenges, competitive landscape, Porter's / PESTLE
analysis, etc.
•
Benchmarking: basic understanding of the role of support functions,
operational KPI benchmarking, and vendor assessment from a business
perspective
•
Financials: broad analysis of income statement, balance sheet, cash flows,
ratios, segment performance, etc.
•
Competitors: comparative performance of companies on financial and
operational KPIs, relative strengths and weaknesses, etc.
Roles & responsibilities
•
Guide Associate Consultants (SA) and Business Associates (BA) across each
stage of projects - from communicating client requirements, scoping and
work allocation, to continuous supervision and review across secondary
research, data analysis and discussions, storyboarding, and preparing
deliverables
•
Articulate findings through visually appealing / appropriate frameworks
and in a clear, concise, and grammatically correct business English (both
written and verbal)
•
Ensure effective presentation of client deliverables - prepare client
ready presentations that are well structured, logical and clear to
understand
•
Independently handle multiple projects, with minimal supervision from
Manager/Assistant Manager
•
Upskill your team members to add stronger value by providing training and
coaching on different projects / activities and reviewing the work
performed by the team
Showcase a greater degree of flexibility, steer well through
complexity/ambiguity and cater to everchanging requirements from the
Leadership.
Educational qualifications
•
1-2 years of exposure to research projects in the financial services or
BFSI sector. Good understanding of the FS sub-sectors such as Banking,
Insurance, Capital Markets, FinTech, etc.of investment banks; with and
MBA qualification from a Tier I/II college.
Work experience
•
The candidate must have 4–7 years of relevant experience in a similar
role, particularly in a professional services firm / third-party KPO /
specialized research houses, or research divisions of investment banks;
with and MBA qualification from a Tier I/II college.
Mandatory
technical & functional skills
•
Proficiency in MS-Office - Intermediate/Advanced MS-Excel, MS-PowerPoint
and MS-Word
•
Experience in preparing Information Memorandum analysis, M&A studies,
target screening, private equity reports, industry landscapes, company
analysis and thought leaderships
•
Proficiency in using specialized databases and free sources
•
Adept at strategic frameworks such as SWOT, Porter’s Five Forces, PESTLE,
etc.
Preferred technical & functional skills
Working knowledge of R, PowerBI and Alteryx would be an added advantage
