Purpose of the role
To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering
methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities
for our customers and colleagues.
Accountabilities

Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using
industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that
code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.

Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other
engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and
ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.

Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture
of code quality and knowledge sharing.

Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively
contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture
of technical excellence and growth.

Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect
sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.

Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code
design, readability, and reliability.

Join us as an
Automation Tester
at Barclays where you will spearhead testing of multiple projects or modules
and coordinating with teams to understand requirements, test planning, test
execution, functional/automation testing across different phub feature teams
To be successful as an
Automation Tester,
you should have experience with:
Test Planning & Execution
-
Delivery of test plan, test scenarios & test closure as per provided
requirements & timelines.

Able to work on one or multiple projects of varying complexity, undertaking
the following activities, maintaining overall accountability for the work of
the team in terms of quality and timeliness of delivery:

Strong understanding of functional testing, regression testing, system
testing & integration testing.

Strong understanding of test life cycle

Validation of plans and progress management

Hands-on experience of test cases/scenarios writing & test execution
Some other highly valued skills may include:
-
Relevant experience in API automation testing using Python/Java –Selenium
based or any other API centric gherkins(BDD) based framework

Extensive experience into E2E test management activities right from
project test initiation to closedown phase.

Should be well versed with methodologies such as Agile/Kanban/Hybrid.

Should be well versed with implementation and designing of the TDD &
BDD using Cucumber & Selenium framework for moving towards CI /CD.

Should be involved in tes
t automation projects right from the framework design, framework amendments
to execution.

Should have experience in story point estimation technique or business case
estimation.

Well versed with setting-up Test Environment with required test data &
appropriate level of access

Strong in SQL/PL-SQL & Unix

Hands on experience in automation & scripting

Experience of converting BA stories into test scenarios/cases.

Well versed with test management tool i.e. Quality Center/JIRA

Well versed with defect lifecycle

Good written and verbal communication skills
