BA4 : Automation Test Engineer

Job Description: Automation Test Engineer (Java + Selenium + BDD/TDD + Cucumber)

Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled Automation Test Engineer with strong expertise in Java, Selenium, and BDD/TDD frameworks. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and maintain robust automated test suites, ensuring high‑quality software delivery across agile teams. This role requires hands‑on experience with Cucumber, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using Java , Selenium WebDriver , and Cucumber .

• Implement and enhance BDD/TDD frameworks to support continuous testing and CI/CD pipelines.

• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and QA teams to understand requirements and define test strategies.

• Identify, document, and track defects; ensure timely resolution through effective communication.

• Perform functional, regression, integration, and API automation testing as needed.

• Optimize test automation for scalability, reliability, and performance.

• Participate in code reviews, contribute to best practices, and ensure adherence to QA standards.

• Analyze test results, generate reports, and provide actionable insights to stakeholders.

• Continuously evaluate new tools, technologies, and approaches to improve automation efficiency.

  Required Skills & Experience

  • 6+ years of hands‑on experience in automation testing.

  • Strong programming skills in Java .

  • Expertise in Selenium WebDriver for UI automation.

  • Solid understanding and practical experience with BDD/TDD methodologies.

  • Hands‑on experience with Cucumber (feature files, step definitions, hooks).

  • Experience with Maven/Gradle , Git , Jenkins , or other CI/CD tools.

  • Familiarity with API automation using RestAssured , Postman , or similar tools (preferred).

  • Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, and agile methodologies.

  • Excellent debugging, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.

  Good to Have

  • Experience with cloud‑based testing platforms (e.g., BrowserStack, Sauce Labs).

  • Knowledge of performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter).

  • Exposure to microservices testing.

  • Understanding of containerization (Docker) and DevOps practices.

  Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
