MongoDB Database Administrator

Job Summary:

We are seeking a certified MongoDB Database Administrator with robust hands-on experience in administering MongoDB databases. This role is pivotal for ensuring high availability, performance tuning, and security compliance across our production and developmental environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer and support MongoDB databases across Development, Staging, Production, and Disaster Recovery environments.
• Manage MongoDB replica sets, replication, sharding, and high-availability configurations.
• Perform installation, configuration, patching, version upgrades, and migrations of MongoDB databases.
• Monitor database health, performance, capacity, storage, and replication lag to ensure optimal operation.
• Troubleshoot complex database issues, performance bottlenecks, and production incidents effectively.
• Implement and manage backup, restore, and disaster recovery procedures, including periodic recovery testing.
• Coordinate with application, infrastructure, security, and vendor teams to swiftly resolve database issues.

Requirements:

• Strong hands-on experience as a MongoDB DBA, with MongoDB as your primary specialization.
• Valid MongoDB certification relevant to database administration.
• Proven experience supporting MongoDB in production environments, ensuring high availability and performance.
• In-depth knowledge of replication, backup and recovery procedures, performance tuning, and security protocols.
• Experience with monitoring, capacity planning, and automating MongoDB operations.
• Good knowledge of Linux/Unix administration and scripting capabilities.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to interact with teams and stakeholders effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience administering PostgreSQL, including installation, configuration, and performance tuning.
• PostgreSQL certification to enhance database administration skills.
• Experience with MongoDB Enterprise and/or MongoDB Atlas for enhanced database management.
• Adept understanding of high availability and disaster recovery implementation strategies.
