ABOUT THE ROLE

Yimei Group is looking to appoint a DGM – Sales & Market Development, India to establish and drive the India market for its portfolio of luxury hotels, resorts and safari properties across East Africa, with primary focus on Kenya, Tanzania and other strategic East African destinations.

The selected candidate will act as the key commercial bridge between the East African properties and India's luxury travel ecosystem, developing business through:

• Luxury outbound tour operators
• Travel advisors
• DMCs
• OTAs
• MICE agencies
• Wedding specialists
• Premium corporate accounts
• Luxury FIT and HNI customers

The role will have significant ownership for market development, relationship building, room-night generation and revenue growth in India.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

India Market Development

• Develop and execute the India sales and market-development strategy.
• Build the company's presence across major outbound luxury travel markets.
• Develop relationships with luxury travel advisors, tour operators, DMCs, MICE companies and premium corporate accounts.
• Focus on Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Pune and emerging luxury travel markets.

Travel Trade & Partner Network

• Build strong relationships with leading luxury tour operators, outbound travel companies and travel advisors.
• Develop and maintain a database of priority Indian travel partners.
• Personally manage relationships with key decision-makers and influential operators selling Africa and luxury international travel.
• Expand the network into luxury specialists, wedding planners, MICE agencies and premium corporate accounts.

Revenue & Room-Night Generation

• Own India-market room-night, occupancy and revenue targets.
• Develop annual and quarterly sales plans for the properties.
• Convert trade relationships into actual bookings and sustainable revenue.
• Track the complete sales funnel from Agent Contacted → Activated → Quoting → Booking → Repeat Booking.
• Drive repeat business and increase key-account contribution.

Tour Operator Contracting

• Negotiate commercial agreements, preferred rates and packages with key tour operators.
• Develop Kenya/East Africa holiday packages combining safari, beach and luxury experiences.
• Ensure properties are included in operators' brochures, websites, campaigns and itineraries.

OTA & Digital Distribution

• Develop relationships with relevant OTAs and online travel platforms.
• Work with revenue/distribution teams to optimise pricing, availability, visibility and conversion.
• Identify emerging digital platforms that can generate additional luxury demand.

Luxury Travel Trade Engagement

• Conduct sales calls, presentations and client meetings across India.
• Organise roadshows, agent meets, webinars and product trainings.
• Conduct FAM trips for high-potential travel partners.
• Build strong product knowledge among travel agents.

Develop business across:

• Luxury FIT travellers
• Honeymooners
• Families
• HNIs
• Safari and wildlife enthusiasts
• Luxury groups
• MICE
• Destination weddings
