Designation : Sr. Engineer / Engineer - Quality Assurance

Area - Final Testing

Responsibilities:
Perform electrical and functional testing of control panels and electrical assemblies.
Perform point-to-point wiring and continuity checks.
Verify panel wiring as per approved electrical schematic and wiring drawings.
Perform Insulation Resistance (IR), Hi-Pot, Earth Continuity, Polarity and Phase Sequence tests as applicable.
Verify voltage, current, control circuits and electrical parameters.
Verify correct rating and positioning of fuses, MCBs, MCCBs, ACBs, relays, contactors and other electrical components.
Perform functional testing of control circuits, interlocks, protection circuits, alarms and indications.
Verify PLC I/O, HMI, sensors, relays and contactors where applicable.
Operate DynaLab / automated electrical testing systems where applicable.
Troubleshoot wiring, electrical and functional failures.
Read and interpret electrical schematic, wiring, GA drawings and BOMs.
Verify components and wiring against the latest approved drawing revision.
Record test results and maintain testing/inspection reports.
Identify defects and coordinate with Production and Engineering teams for corrective action.
Perform re-testing after correction and ensure proper closure of defects.
Support FAT / customer inspection activities.
Support NCR, root-cause analysis, 8D and corrective-action activities.
Ensure all testing is carried out safely and as per approved procedures.
Authorities:
Authority to stop testing when the panel, test setup, drawing, or safety condition does not meet the defined requirements.
Authority to reject/hold a panel if any electrical, wiring, functional, component, or safety requirement is not complied with.
Authority to raise NCR / defect reports for identified non-conformities.
Authority to request rework/correction from Production for testing failures.
Authority to verify the availability and validity of calibrated testing equipment before testing.
Authority to recommend improvements to testing methods, fixtures, test programs, and control mechanisms.

Skill & Knowledge
Understanding of electrical component ratings and applications.
Good knowledge of control panel construction, electrical wiring and control circuits.
Good understanding of AC/DC electrical circuits, power and control circuits.
Knowledge of Insulation Resistance (IR) , Hi-Pot / dielectric withstand testing ,
Ability to perform functional, interlock, alarm and protection testing.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematic and wiring diagrams.
Strong electrical fault-finding and troubleshooting capability.
Basic knowledge of NCR, 8D, CAPA and Root Cause Analysis.
Understanding of Control Plan, PFMEA and inspection criteria is preferred.
Qualification :
Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech. in Electrical / Electronics / Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
