Role Overview
The Product Leader – MDx & BBs is a senior role for the
strategic, technical, and commercial success of the portfolio across India.
This role carries full P&L accountability and owns end-to-end new
product launches and lifecycle management. The position collaborates
cross-functionally with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Sales, Marketing,
Finance, Technical Services & Development (TSD), and IT to ensure
successful commercialization, regulatory compliance, operational readiness,
and sustained profitability.
Key Responsibilities
1. P&L Ownership & Business Leadership
-
Own complete P&L responsibility for the portfolio.
-
Drive revenue growth, market share expansion, and gross margin
optimization.
-
Develop pricing strategies, demand forecasts, and profitability plans.
-
Conduct periodic business performance reviews with leadership.
-
Identify portfolio expansion and cost optimization opportunities.
2. New Product Launch Leadership
-
Lead end-to-end launch of new platforms, assays, and integrated systems.
-
Develop and execute comprehensive launch plans covering:
-
Regulatory and quality readiness
-
Manufacturing and supply planning
-
Sales enablement and application training
-
Marketing positioning and commercialization strategy
-
Monitor launch KPIs and ensure successful market adoption.
3. Mandatory Technical & Clinical Expertise
The candidate must possess strong technical expertise in:
-
Molecular PCR technologies / CLIA, Biochemistry and Integrated Solutions
/ Hematology & HPLC Solutions
-
Multiplex reagents in BBs
-
Integrated fully automated walkaway platforms
-
Critical Care Instruments and Reagents
Additionally, must demonstrate deep understanding of:
-
Pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical laboratory workflows
-
Assay validation, calibration protocols, and QC management
-
Accreditation standards (NABL, CAP or equivalent) and SOP frameworks
-
Laboratory compliance requirements and audit preparedness
-
Instrument performance metrics and assay efficiency parameters
Provide technical leadership during key customer engagements, product
demonstrations, and complex sales discussions.
4. Laboratory Informatics & Integration Expertise
-
Strong knowledge of laboratory software systems.
-
Experience with LIS (Laboratory Information Systems) interfacing and
middleware solutions.

Understanding of diagnostic instrument connectivity, bidirectional
interfacing, and workflow automation.
-
Collaborate with IT and field teams to ensure seamless installations and
integrations.
5. Cross-Functional Leadership
-
Act as the central anchor for all system product initiatives.

Work closely with:

R&D for menu expansion and innovation roadmap
-
Quality & Regulatory for compliance adherence
-
Manufacturing for cost and supply optimization
-
Sales & Marketing for positioning and growth acceleration

Finance for forecasting and margin management
-
TSD for installation excellence and customer satisfaction

Influence cross-functional stakeholders in a matrix environment while
maintaining strong outcome focus.
6. Market & Customer Engagement
-
Develop deep insights into diagnostic laboratory segments including
standalone labs, hospital labs, and chains.

Engage key customers and KOLs to understand clinical and operational
needs.

Translate market feedback into product enhancements and strategic
initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology,
or related field

10–15+ years of subject matter experience in IVD/Diagnostics.

Mandatory hands-on exposure to:

Molecular PCR technologies / CLIA, Biochemistry and Integrated
Solutions / Hematology & HPLC Solutions

Strong knowledge of IVD industry functioning

Integrated digital connectivity
-
Proven experience managing product P&L.

Experience working with accredited laboratories preferred.

National-level product management experience desirable.
