We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Head – HR to lead the complete HR and employee relations function at our Pariya manufacturing plant in Gujarat .
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Plant HR , with deep hands-on experience in labour laws, statutory compliance, Factory Act requirements, industrial relations, contract labour management, employee engagement and workforce management .
The person will be responsible for independently managing the complete HR function at the plant and partnering closely with the Plant Head and senior management to build a productive, compliant and engaged workforce.
Lead and manage the complete HR function for the manufacturing plant.
Partner with the Plant Head and functional leadership on all people-related matters.
Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with plant business and operational requirements.
Manage manpower planning, recruitment, onboarding, deployment and workforce productivity.
Ensure effective HR policies, processes and systems are implemented at the plant.
Ensure 100% compliance with applicable labour laws and statutory requirements .
Strong working knowledge of Factories Act / applicable Occupational Safety, Health & Working Conditions requirements , state labour regulations and related statutory provisions.
Manage compliance relating to PF, ESIC, Bonus, Gratuity, Minimum Wages, Payment of Wages, Contract Labour, Standing Orders, Shops & Establishments where applicable , etc.
Maintain statutory registers, records, returns, licences and required documentation.
Coordinate and manage statutory inspections and labour department interactions.
Ensure compliance of all contractors and contract workers with applicable labour regulations.
Conduct regular compliance audits and close identified gaps within timelines.
Manage employee relations and industrial relations at the plant.
Handle grievances, disciplinary matters, misconduct cases and domestic enquiries.
Maintain a positive and productive relationship with workers, supervisors and employee representatives.
Manage union-related matters, if applicable.
Support management during negotiations and other employee relations matters.
Establish effective grievance-handling and employee communication mechanisms.
Manage permanent employees, contract labour, trainees and other categories of workforce.
Ensure optimum manpower utilisation and productivity.
Monitor absenteeism, attrition, overtime and manpower costs.
Develop systems for workforce discipline, attendance and shift management.
Work closely with production and operations teams to address manpower-related challenges.
Drive recruitment for plant requirements across operators, technicians, engineers, supervisors and management positions.
Build local talent pipelines and strong recruitment channels around Valsad / Vapi / Pardi / Daman / DNH region.
Ensure effective onboarding and induction of new employees.
Develop succession plans and talent pipelines for critical plant positions.
Drive performance management processes for plant employees.
Identify training and skill-development requirements.
Coordinate technical, behavioural, safety and statutory training programmes.
Develop employee engagement and retention initiatives.
Support capability building of supervisors and managers.
Oversee payroll and attendance processes in coordination with the relevant teams.
Ensure accurate and timely salary processing.
Manage statutory deductions and employee benefits.
Monitor overtime, incentives and other plant-related compensation components.
Ensure payroll and HR processes remain compliant with applicable regulations.
Implement and continuously improve plant HR policies and processes.
Establish strong HR MIS and dashboards covering manpower, absenteeism, attrition, overtime, recruitment, compliance and employee relations.
Use HR analytics and data to support management decisions.
Standardise HR processes and documentation across the plant.
Work closely with EHS/Safety teams to promote a strong safety culture.
Ensure statutory welfare requirements are implemented.
Oversee employee welfare facilities such as canteen, transportation, medical facilities, first aid and other applicable amenities.
Promote employee engagement, health and well-being initiatives.
Ensure readiness for internal, statutory and customer audits relating to HR and labour compliance.
Maintain proper documentation and evidence for all statutory and HR processes.
Track audit observations and ensure timely closure of corrective actions.
Ensure high standards of HR governance and ethical practices.
We are looking for a strong Plant HR leader , not a purely corporate HR professional.
15+ years of overall HR experience with substantial manufacturing/plant HR experience .
Prior experience as Plant HR Head / Head HR – Factory / Senior HR Manager – Manufacturing .
Strong hands-on experience in labour law and statutory compliance .
Strong knowledge of Factory/OSH requirements, contract labour compliance and industrial relations .
Experience handling a large blue-collar and contract workforce.
Experience dealing with labour authorities, inspections and statutory audits.
Strong experience in employee relations, disciplinary processes and grievance handling.
Experience working closely with Plant Head, Operations and senior management.
