Role Purpose

The Executive Assistant (Strategy) to the Director will serve as the strategic right hand to the Director, driving high-impact business initiatives, Go-To-Market (GTM) strategy projects, sales transformation programs, growth opportunities, and cross-functional execution across the organization.

The role requires a highly analytical and business-oriented professional who can combine consulting rigor with execution excellence. The incumbent will work closely with senior leadership, business heads, sales teams, marketing, product management, and external stakeholders to formulate, track, and implement strategic priorities that accelerate business growth and market leadership.

The position is designed as a high-visibility leadership pipeline role, providing exposure to corporate strategy, sales excellence, channel development, business transformation, and executive decision-making. This combines strategic planning, project management, market intelligence, business analytics, and leadership support responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Planning & Business Growth

Support the Director in developing long-term business growth strategies.
Assist in annual and multi-year strategic planning exercises.
Conduct market sizing, industry analysis, competitive benchmarking, and opportunity assessments.
Evaluate new business opportunities, partnerships, acquisitions, and market entry strategies.
Develop business cases and investment proposals for strategic initiatives.
Identify emerging industry trends and recommend growth opportunities.

2. Go-To-Market (GTM) & Sales Strategy

Support formulation and execution of GTM strategies across product categories and channels.
Develop channel expansion strategies for retail, distribution, projects, institutional, and digital channels.
Analyse sales productivity, market coverage, pricing effectiveness, and customer segmentation.
Recommend initiatives to improve market penetration, sales effectiveness, and profitability.
Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Product Management, and Supply Chain teams to ensure seamless strategy execution.
Support launch planning for new products, categories, and geographies.

3. Strategy Management

Prepare executive presentations, board notes, strategy papers, business reviews, and leadership communication.
Attend key leadership meetings and document strategic decisions and action plans.
Track execution of key initiatives and ensure closure of agreed actions.
Provide analytical inputs and recommendations for executive decision-making.
Act as a liaison between the Director and business functions to drive alignment and accountability.

4. Strategic Project & Program Management

Lead and monitor cross-functional strategic projects from concept to implementation.
Create project roadmaps, milestones, dashboards, and governance mechanisms.
Identify risks, dependencies, and mitigation plans.
Coordinate with business leaders to ensure timely execution of strategic priorities.
Drive transformation initiatives focused on growth, productivity, customer experience, and operational excellence.

5. Business Analytics & Performance Management

Develop executive dashboards and performance scorecards.
Analyse business KPIs, sales trends, profitability metrics, and market performance.
Generate actionable insights to support leadership decisions.
Monitor strategic initiative outcomes and business impact realization.
Conduct ad-hoc analysis and scenario planning for leadership reviews.

6. Stakeholder Management

Collaborate with internal business leaders and functional heads.
Coordinate with external consultants, research agencies, channel partners, and industry bodies.
Facilitate leadership reviews and governance meetings.
Build strong relationships across all levels of the organization to drive execution and influence outcomes.

Candidate Profile

Educational Qualification

MBA in Marketing, Strategy, General Management, or Business Analytics from a Tier-1 / Premier B-School (IIMs, ISB, SPJIMR, XLRI, MDI, FMS, JBIMS, etc.)
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Commerce, Economics, or related disciplines preferred.

Experience

5–8 years of post-MBA experience.
Experience with Big 4 Consulting firms (Deloitte, EY, PwC, KPMG) or reputed strategy consulting organizations preferred.
Exposure to Go-To-Market Strategy, Sales Strategy, Business Transformation, Growth Strategy, Commercial Excellence, or Corporate Strategy.
Experience in Real Estate, Building Materials, Pipes, Bathware, Construction Products, Consumer Durables, Home Improvement, or allied industries preferred.
