Reliance Consumer Products Ltd (RCPL),  the FMCG arm of Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) , has forayed into the fast-growing healthy functional beverage space with the acquisition of majority stake in a Joint Venture with Naturedge Beverages Private Ltd.

About the Role

As a Junior Procurement Executive in FMCG Staples at Reliance, you’ll support the sourcing and procurement of staple goods (e.g., rice, pulses, grains, edible oil, flours/atta) to ensure cost-effective, timely, and reliable supply for retail/wholesale operations. You’ll work closely with vendors, internal stakeholders (supply chain, inventory, finance) and support category strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement Operations

• Execute day-to-day procurement tasks for FMCG staples, including handling purchase requisitions and order placement.
• Prepare and process purchase orders (POs) in line with internal policies and supplier terms.
• Coordinate with demand planning and supply chain teams for accurate forecasts and stock requirements.

Vendor & Supplier Management

• Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable vendors/suppliers in staple categories.
• Maintain strong supplier relationships, track performance, and support supplier development.
• Assist in supplier negotiations for price, delivery terms, and payment conditions to achieve cost optimization and value.

Cost & Documentation

• Support cost analysis, supplier comparison, and internal cost estimates.
• Maintain accurate records of procurement documents including POs, contracts, delivery schedules, and invoices.
• Track and report monthly procurement KPIs (savings, vendor performance, delivery lead times).

Coordination & Compliance

• Work with cross-functional teams (Inventory, Finance, Quality Assurance) to ensure compliance to company procedures and regulatory standards.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with governance, quality, and food safety standards where applicable.

Process Improvement

• Identify opportunities to streamline procurement processes (e-procurement workflows, ERP tools like SAP).
• Contribute to improvements in sourcing, vendor evaluation frameworks, and system efficiencies.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain / Procurement, Commerce, or similar.
• 3–5 years of procurement or sourcing experience, preferably in FMCG, staples, retail, or consumer goods.
• Strong understanding of sourcing fundamentals, vendor evaluation, price negotiation, and contract execution.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP / Oracle / procurement modules) and MS Excel.

• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to work with internal teams and external suppliers.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities under deadlines.
• Knowledge of procurement regulations, compliance standards, and ethical sourcing principles.

• Certifications like CIPS , CPSM , or similar procurement qualifications.
