Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Automobile Dealership

Location : Head Office (with oversight of all concerned branches)

Job Description – Inventory & Asset Control

1. Financial Strategy & Planning

• Develop and implement the financial strategy of the dealership.
• Prepare annual budgets, forecasts, and financial projections.
• Monitor branch-wise profitability and cost structures.
• Support management in business expansion decisions and investment planning.
• Supervise physical stock audits and reconciliation.

2. Financial Reporting & Compliance

• Preparation and review of:
• Monthly MIS
• Profitability reports (Branch / Department wise)
• Balance Sheet & P&L
• Cash flow statements
• Ensure compliance with:
• Income Tax
• GST
• Companies Act / LLP regulations
• Manufacturer audit requirements

3. Working Capital & Cash Flow Management

• Manage working capital cycles of:
• Vehicle inventory
• Spare parts
• Receivables
• Monitor cash flow position of each branch daily/weekly.
• Manage bank limits such as:
  • CC limits
  • Inventory funding
  • Bank guarantees / LC
• Maintain strong relationships with banks and financial institutions.

4. Internal Controls & Risk Management

• Design and implement strong internal financial controls.
• Monitor cash handling processes.
• Expense approvals.
• Fraud risk.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs across all branches.

5. Cost Control & Profitability Improvement

• Monitor major cost heads:
• Manpower cost
• Advertisement
• Administrative expenses
• Branch operating costs
• Implement cost optimization initiatives.
• Evaluate department-wise margins (Sales / Service / Spares / Insurance / Finance).

6. Dealer Manufacturer Compliance

• Ensure compliance with financial and reporting requirements of OEMs such as:
• Monthly financial submissions
• Dealer margin reconciliation
• Incentive claims
• Warranty claim reconciliation

7. MIS & Performance Monitoring

• Review:
• Daily Sales Report
• Branch MIS
• Department profitability
• Budget vs Actual
• Working capital analysis

8. Team Leadership

• Lead and supervise:
• Accounts team
• Finance team
• Branch accountants
• Develop standard financial processes across all locations.
• Conduct training and performance monitoring of finance staff.

9. Strategic Support to Management

• Provide financial insights for:
• New dealership openings
• Branch expansion
• Capital expenditure decisions
• Pricing and discount strategies
• Business restructuring

10. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Branch profitability improvement
• Working capital cycle
• Inventory ageing control
• Cost reduction
• Timely MIS reporting
• Audit compliance
• Cash flow management

Required Qualifications

• CA / ICWA / MBA Finance
• 10–15+ years of experience
• Experience in Automobile dealership / automobile industry preferred
