Finance Manager

Role Objective
The Finance Manager will be responsible for end-to-end financial management of the FMCG business/plant, ensuring robust financial controls, accurate reporting, cost competitiveness, and strong business partnering. The role will work closely with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Leadership teams to drive profitable growth, margin improvement, and efficient capital utilization.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Control & Reporting

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings in line with corporate timelines.
• Prepare and review MIS, P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reports for FMCG operations.
• Ensure accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial data.
• Develop and track KPIs relevant to FMCG operations including gross margin, trade spend, and working capital.

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

• Lead annual budgeting and rolling forecast processes for FMCG business units.
• Perform variance analysis (volume, price, mix, trade spend, cost) versus budget and forecast.
• Identify risks, opportunities, and corrective actions to achieve financial targets.
• Support long-range planning and scenario analysis.

Cost Accounting & Cost Management

• Manage product costing, standard costing, and BOM structures for FMCG products.
• Analyze material, conversion, freight, and overhead costs.
• Drive cost reduction and productivity initiatives across manufacturing and supply chain.
• Ensure accurate inventory valuation and reconciliation with physical counts.

Business Partnering & Commercial Finance

• Act as finance business partner to Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Supply Chain teams.
• Support pricing decisions, GTM strategies, and channel profitability analysis.
• Evaluate new product launches, promotions, and trade schemes through ROI analysis.
• Analyze customer, channel, and SKU-level profitability to improve margins.

Capex & Investment Management

• Prepare capex budgets, business cases, and ROI justifications for plant and commercial investments.
• Track capex utilization and ensure adherence to approved budgets.
• Monitor post-investment performance and benefits realization.

Working Capital & Cash Flow Management

• Monitor cash flows and ensure adequate liquidity for FMCG operations.
• Drive working capital optimization across inventory, receivables, and payables.
• Support credit policy and distributor financing decisions.

Compliance, Audit & Governance

• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements including GST, income tax, and FMCG-specific regulations.
• Maintain strong internal controls and governance frameworks.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure timely closure of audit observations.

Systems & Process Management

• Oversee ERP systems (SAP) and ensure effective usage.
• Drive automation, process improvements, and system-led controls.
• Ensure data integrity across finance and operational systems.

Team Leadership & Development

• Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team.
• Set performance goals and provide regular feedback.
• Build a strong finance team with commercial acumen and control orientation.

Strategic Advisory

• Provide actionable financial insights to senior management.
• Analyze market trends, competitive performance, and category economics.
• Support leadership in strategic decision-making and long-term value creation.

Technical Skills:
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and financial modeling.
