Role Summary
As AGM – Industrial Relations & Administration at Sterling Tools Limited, you will lead the implementation and management of industrial relations policies and practices across manufacturing operations and ensure seamless administration of plant facilities. You will cultivate a productive, compliant, and positive workplace environment in alignment with the company’s values, safety culture, and operational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Industrial Relations
- Lead industrial relations strategy and day-to-day execution across plant/units.
- Act as principal liaison with trade unions, worker representatives, and labour officials; build sustainable mutual understanding.
- Handle union negotiations, wage settlements, agreements, and collective bargaining.
- Manage employee relations issues including grievances, disciplinary matters, and conflict resolution.
- Ensure compliance with relevant labour laws (e.g., Industrial Disputes Act, Factories Act, Standing Orders, minimum wages, etc.).
- Drive IR analytics and regular reporting to senior leadership for proactive risk mitigation.
- Conduct proactive engagement forums and communication programs to maintain workforce harmony.
Administration & Facilities
- Oversee administrative support functions including security, transport, canteen, housekeeping, facilities management and plant services.
- Ensure cost-effective and compliant operations of all administrative functions.
- Vendor and contract management for all administrative and facilities services.
- Ensure statutory record-keeping, licenses, permits and approvals for plant administration are valid and compliant.
- Implement and review administrative policies, procedures and SOPs to support safety, efficiency and compliance.
Compliance, Safety and Governance
- Maintain strict compliance with corporate policies on health, safety and environment; support site safety governance frameworks.
- Coordinate internal and external audits relating to industrial relations, labour compliance, administration and statutory requirements.
- Lead investigations into incidents and non-compliance issues with corrective action plans.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor and develop IR & Admin team members.
- Coordinate cross-functional initiatives with HR, Safety, Operations, Legal and Finance teams.
- Champion employee engagement initiatives that improve morale, retention and productivity.
Qualifications
- MBA / MSW (HR & IR) / PG Diploma in HR or Labour Laws
- Additional certifications in labour law or industrial relations are desirable.
Experience
- 10+ years of strong experience in Industrial Relations and Administration.
- Prior leadership experience in a medium to large manufacturing or automotive organization preferred.

- Strong negotiation, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to handle conflict resolution and sensitive workforce issues with discretion.
