Job Summary
The Kitchen Stewarding Team (KST) Associate is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation standards across the kitchen, dishwashing areas, and back-of-house operations. The role ensures the availability of clean utensils, crockery, cutlery, glassware, and kitchen equipment to support seamless restaurant and lounge operations.
Key Responsibilities
Kitchen & Equipment Hygiene
- Clean and sanitize kitchen workstations, floors, walls, and storage areas.
- Wash and maintain all kitchen equipment, utensils, pots, pans, and serving tools.
- Ensure proper cleaning and storage of crockery, cutlery, and glassware.
- Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing and stewarding areas at all times.
Operational Support
- Support kitchen and service teams by ensuring the timely availability of clean equipment.
- Assist during peak operational hours, events, and banquet functions.
- Coordinate with chefs and restaurant staff to meet operational requirements.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of kitchen inventory and equipment.
Food Safety & Compliance
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards as per company policies.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations and maintain a hazard-free work environment.
- Ensure proper segregation and disposal of waste materials.
- Report any damaged equipment, safety concerns, or maintenance issues.
Inventory & Store Management
- Monitor usage of cleaning chemicals and stewarding supplies.
- Maintain stock levels of cleaning materials and report shortages.
- Assist in receiving, storing, and organizing kitchen supplies.
General Responsibilities
- Maintain personal grooming and hygiene standards.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and organizational guidelines.
- Perform additional duties assigned by the supervisor from time to time.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 10th Pass / Higher Secondary preferred.
- Previous experience in stewarding, housekeeping, restaurants, hotels, lounges, or hospitality operations is preferred.
- Freshers with a willingness to learn may also apply.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of basic hygiene and sanitation practices.
- Ability to operate dishwashing and cleaning equipment.
- Good teamwork and coordination skills.
- Physical stamina to stand for long hours and handle operational demands.
- Ability to work in rotational shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Experience
- 0–3 years of experience in Kitchen Stewarding, Hospitality, Restaurant, Lounge, Hotel, Catering, or Food Service Operations.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Kitchen hygiene and cleanliness standards maintained.
- Availability of clean utensils, crockery, and equipment.
- Compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Timely completion of cleaning schedules.
- Reduction in breakage and equipment damage.
