F&B Captain - Restaurants

Job Summary:

As an F&B Captain at The Bombay Canteen or O Pedro, you’ll ensure our guests receive personalized, attentive service while leading a high-energy team. Your role will directly contribute to creating unforgettable experiences that define our brand.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead by example, setting the tone for the team and ensuring consistently excellent service from greeting guests to farewells.
Deliver friendly, knowledgeable service, offering personalized recommendations to enhance each guest's dining experience.
Build rapport with guests, making them feel special while promptly addressing their needs and requests.
Utilize in-depth menu expertise to guide guests in their food and drink choices, explaining dishes and ingredients with confidence.
Manage the floor during service, ensuring operational efficiency by coordinating with the kitchen, bar, and service team.
Train, mentor, and motivate junior staff, supporting their growth and understanding of service expectations.
Handle guest concerns and special requests with professionalism and grace, ensuring every guest leaves happy.
Ensure all health and safety standards are met, maintaining a clean and safe work environment at all times.

Requirements:

Location: Must be living in Mumbai or willing to relocate.
Experience: Minimum 2 years as an F&B Captain or in a supervisory role in a fast-paced, high-end restaurant.
Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems is advantageous.
Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills, fluent in English.
A natural ability to connect with guests, ensuring a welcoming and caring atmosphere.
Quick-thinking with the capability to resolve issues or complaints professionally.
Ability to work under pressure and lead a team through busy shifts effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in upscale dining environments with a strong focus on guest relations.
A background in food and beverage operations or management.
Knowledge of Indian and contemporary cuisines to better guide guest selections.
Previous training or management experience in hospitality.
