Brand - Bombay Sweet Shop | Location - Mumbai
The Social Media Manager owns how Bombay Sweet Shop shows up on social, every single day. If the Brand Manager decides what BSS stands for and what we should be talking about, you're the person who turns that into a living, breathing feed — a calendar that ships on time, channels that grow, and a community that genuinely feels something when we show up. This is a hands-on ownership role, not a posting role. You'll run the day-to-day of our channels, own publishing and community, report on what's working, help turn our best organic content into performance fuel, and lead our social execution team as it grows. If you think in formats and series rather than one-off posts, obsess over engagement and tone, and want to grow one of India's most-loved consumer brands on social media, this is your seat.
Bombay Sweet Shop brings back the magic of mithai. We follow the sweet trail across India, then take its traditions, flip them on their head, and make something modern, handmade, and a little bit magic — from snappable Choco Butterscotch Barks to crunchy Chikki and everything in between. Social is one of our most powerful channels, and how a lot of people first meet the brand. We're looking for someone to make it distinct, consistent, and impossible to scroll past.
You report to the Brand Manager, who owns BSS's brand and content strategy — your job is to turn that strategy into a live, growing channel. You'll work hand-in-hand with the Copy Lead and content team on what goes out, the Design team on assets, the Creator Partnerships Intern on bringing creators onto our channels, and the Growth team on turning organic winners into paid. Our Social Media Executive reports into you — you'll manage and mentor them as the social team grows.
Own the Social Calendar & Publishing: Turn brand and content strategy into a clear, always-on posting calendar across Instagram (primary) and our other channels (Youtube, Snapchat, LinkedIn, Reddit) — and make sure everything ships on time, every single time.
Lead Campaigns End-to-End: Once the Brand Lead has locked in a theme, own social campaigns from ideation to execution and final reporting — translating the campaign thought into a strong social strategy, defining content requirements, coordinating with creative/content teams, managing timelines and ensuring the campaign comes together seamlessly across touchpoints.
Grow the Channels: Own the numbers that matter — reach, follower growth, engagement, saves and shares. Know what's driving them, and double down.
Community & Engagement: Own comments and DMs day-to-day. Build response behaviours that feel human and unmistakably BSS, spot community moments worth amplifying, and keep the brand genuinely close to the people who love it.
Ride the Right Trends: Keep a running read on what's relevant, what to ignore, and what to adapt — and move fast to turn brand-right trends into content, not last-minute panic.
Report & Learn: Own social reporting — weekly and monthly views on what worked and what didn't, with clear learnings fed back to the brand, content, and growth teams.
Fuel Performance: Hand your strongest organic content to the Growth team as raw material for paid, and feed paid learnings back into organic.
Creator Content: Work with the Creator Partnerships Intern to bring creator and influencer content onto our channels and keep collaborations moving.
Lead the Social Team: Manage, brief, and mentor our Social Media Executive, raising the bar as the team grows.
Channel Ownership: 4–6 years managing social media for a consumer, D2C, food, or lifestyle brand — owning channels, not just posting to them.
Instagram-Native: You know the platform cold — formats, trends, what performs and why.
Systems, Not One-Offs: You think in content series, formats, and recurring IPs, not individual posts.
Community Instinct: You know how to talk to an audience in a brand's voice and build a community that actually engages.
Analytical: Comfortable in the numbers, and you change what you make based on what they tell you.
Organised & Reliable: You own a calendar and hit deadlines without being chased.
Bonus: Experience managing a junior, and basic shooting and editing skills.
