Job Summary:
Agile Coach roles in the automotive sector demand expertise in guiding cross-functional teams through rapid innovation cycles for vehicle development, supply chain optimization, and digital transformation.
Automotive Solutions Inc., a leading Texas-based innovator in electric vehicle manufacturing and autonomous driving technology headquartered in Austin, seeks an experienced Agile Coach to drive enterprise-wide adoption of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and Scrum practices. The ideal candidate will empower 50+ engineering, design, and production teams to accelerate product delivery—from concept to market—while navigating complex regulatory and supply chain demands unique to automotive OEMs.
Key Responsibilities:
· Coach multiple agile release trains (ARTs) comprising hardware/software engineers, automotive designers, and supply chain specialists on SAFe ceremonies, including PI Planning, Inspect & Adapt workshops, and ART Syncs to align vehicle program milestones with production ramps.
· Facilitate Scrum events for 8-12 development teams per ART, resolving impediments related to CAD modeling, EV battery integration, ADAS software validation, and Tier-1 supplier dependencies.
· Design and deliver customized training on Kanban for manufacturing workflows, story mapping for infotainment features, and metrics tracking (e.g., lead time for prototype builds, defect escape rates) to boost velocity by 30%+ in high-stakes automotive sprints.
· Mentor Product Owners and Release Train Engineers on automotive-specific prioritization using WSJF, ensuring compliance with ISO 26262 functional safety and NHTSA regulations during agile transitions.
· Promote continuous improvement via retrospectives focused on automotive pain points like just-in-time inventory disruptions and global supplier syncs, fostering psychological safety across unionized production floors and remote R&D teams.
Required Qualifications:
· 15+ years of comprehensive IT Experience and 7+ years as Agile Coach/Scrum Master in manufacturing or automotive, with hands-on SAFe 6.0 certification (RTC or SPC preferred) and proven success scaling agile in regulated industries.
· Bachelor's in Engineering, Computer Science, or Operations Management; PMP, CSM, or ICP-ACC a plus.
· Deep knowledge of automotive domain challenges: EV powertrain development, connected car ecosystems, OTA updates, and supply chain volatility.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
· Experience coaching automotive clients (e.g., Ford, GM, Tesla suppliers) on hybrid agile-waterfall for hardware-heavy projects.
· Proficiency in tools like Jira Align, Azure DevOps, Confluence for automotive traceability, and MIRO for virtual PI Planning across Texas facilities and global partners.
· Strong facilitation skills for 100+ participant events, with track record improving flow metrics (e.g., reducing cycle time from design freeze to assembly line integration).
