Guidewire QA Engineer Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Guidewire QA Engineer with expertise in
PolicyCenter and ClaimCenter modules within the Insurance and Health
Services domains. The ideal candidate will have strong automation skills,
domain knowledge, and experience in testing complex Guidewire
applications. You will be responsible for designing, executing, and
automating test strategies to ensure high-quality delivery of
Guidewire-based solutions.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and execute testing activities for Guidewire modules such as
PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, BillingCenter, and ContactCenter.

Develop, enhance, and maintain automation frameworks using tools like
Selenium, Playwright, and other industry-standard automation tools.

Create detailed test plans, test cases, and scripts based on functional
and technical requirements.

Automate end-to-end testing, including functional, regression, and API
testing, leveraging tools such as SOAP UI, Postman, or UFT.

Analyze complex business, functional, and technical requirements to
identify gaps and suggest improvements.

Troubleshoot and diagnose issues, working closely with development teams
to identify root causes and drive resolutions.

Support continuous integration and deployment pipelines and integrate
automated tests within CI/CD workflows, utilizing tools like Azure
DevOps.

Validate data flow and integration points across Guidewire modules and
external systems.

Log, track, and manage defects using tools like Jira, Azure DevOps, HP
ALM, Bugzilla, ensuring timely resolution.

Assess the impact of system changes and define regression test suites
accordingly.

Monitor testing metrics and continuously improve test processes,
automation frameworks, and best practices.

Provide SME-level guidance on Guidewire modules, test strategies, and
automation best practices.

Mentor junior team members and share knowledge through documentation and
knowledge-sharing sessions.
Must-Have Skills:
-
3-8 years of hands-on experience in Guidewire PolicyCenter and
ClaimCenter testing.

Proficiency in Guidewire modules: PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter,
BillingCenter, ContactCenter.

Strong understanding of Insurance and Health Services domain concepts
such as Activity Patterns, Workflow, FNOL, SNOL, Subrogations, Policy
issuance, Renewals, Underwriting.

Hands-on experience in designing and executing comprehensive test plans,
including functional, regression, and security testing.

Experience in test automation using Selenium, Playwright, and frameworks
following Page Object Model (POM).

Expertise in API testing using SOAP UI, Postman, and understanding of
REST and SOAP protocols.

Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools such as Jira,
Azure DevOps, HP ALM, Bugzilla.

Ability to create and maintain test data, and understand application
architecture and data flow.

Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automation integration, including Azure
DevOps.
- Good analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Additional Skills & Qualities:

Strong knowledge of automation frameworks and practices specific to
Guidewire.

Ability to interpret complex data sets and metrics to optimize testing
strategies.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills.

Guidewire certification (e.g., Guidewire Certified QA Analyst) is a
plus.

Relevant Insurance and Health Services domain certifications (e.g., CII,
LOMA) are advantageous.
