Data Modeler

Experience: 5–12 years
Location: Pune 

Role Overview

The Data Modeler will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality data models to support transactional, analytical, and reporting use cases across the organisation. The role will work closely with architects, engineers, and business stakeholders to ensure scalable and reusable data designs.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models in line with defined standards.
• Create and maintain data models using best practices to ensure high data quality and minimal redundancy.
• Optimise and enhance existing data models to support new and ongoing initiatives.
• Define and enforce standard naming conventions and modelling best practices.
• Identify and recommend opportunities for reuse of data models across environments.
• Design and maintain models supporting OLTP, OLAP, and analytical workloads.
• Architect and deploy data models on Microsoft Azure platforms, including Azure SQL Database, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Data Lake.

Tools & Technologies

• Data Modelling Tools: Erwin Data Modeler, ER/Studio Data Architect, Visio, draw.io (or equivalent).
• Cloud Platforms: Microsoft Azure (primary), with exposure to AWS.
• Data Modelling Techniques: Strong experience in Data Vault modelling and Snowflake-style dimensional modelling.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
• 5–12 years of hands-on experience in data modelling and data architecture.
• Strong understanding of enterprise data landscapes and modern cloud-based data platforms.
