About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Core Java Backend Developer to join our engineering team in Chennai. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Core Java (8/11/18), Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture, with hands-on experience in building scalable, high-performance backend systems. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-grade applications while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including frontend developers, DevOps, QA, and product stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain robust backend applications using Core Java (8/11/18).
Build and enhance Spring Boot-based microservices with a focus on scalability and performance.
Develop RESTful APIs and integrate with internal and external systems.
Implement data persistence using Hibernate/JPA and optimize SQL queries for performance.
Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to system design decisions.
Ensure code quality through unit testing, integration testing, and code reviews.
Collaborate with DevOps teams to implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolutions.
Follow best practices for security, performance tuning, and clean code principles.
Mentor junior developers and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.

Required Skills & Qualifications

8+ years of strong backend development experience.
Expert-level knowledge of Core Java (8/11/18) including collections, multithreading, concurrency, streams, and memory management.
Solid experience with Spring Boot and Microservices architecture.
Hands-on experience with Hibernate/JPA and relational databases.
Strong knowledge of SQL and database performance optimization.
Experience working with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Git, Maven/Gradle.
Experience in building RESTful APIs and working with JSON/XML.
Strong understanding of design patterns and object-oriented programming principles.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Good to Have

Experience with Docker and containerization.
Exposure to Kubernetes.
Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
Familiarity with messaging systems like Kafka or RabbitMQ.
