Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Solution / Technical Architect – BSS Integration to lead the design, architecture, and implementation of enterprise-scale integration solutions across Telecom BSS ecosystems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in telecom business processes, system integration, API-led architectures, middleware platforms, and digital transformation initiatives. The architect will play a critical role in defining integration strategies, ensuring seamless connectivity between business and operational systems, and driving technology innovation while maintaining architectural governance and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Integration Architecture & Solution Design- Define and own end-to-end integration architecture for BSS transformation and modernization programs.
- Design scalable, secure, and high-performing integration solutions across CRM, Order Management, Billing, Product Catalog, Customer Care, Digital Channels, and third-party systems.
- Develop comprehensive integration blueprints covering application interfaces, data flows, API strategies, event-driven architectures, middleware components, and cloud integration patterns.
- Evaluate and recommend appropriate integration technologies, frameworks, and tools aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
- Ensure architectural designs support business scalability, performance, resiliency, maintainability, and future growth requirements.
- Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance to development, integration, and implementation teams.
- Review and approve solution designs, integration specifications, and technical documentation.
- Establish and promote integration best practices, coding standards, governance frameworks, and architectural principles.
- Mentor architects, developers, and integration engineers to enhance technical capabilities and foster knowledge sharing.
- Lead technical discussions, design workshops, and architecture review boards.
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, product owners, program managers, and enterprise architects to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Act as a trusted advisor to business and technology leadership on integration strategy and architecture decisions.
- Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Drive alignment between business objectives, technology roadmaps, and integration initiatives.
- Design integrations across CRM, Billing, Charging, Order Management, Product Catalog, Customer Management, Self-Care Portals, and Digital Channels.
- Support TM Forum-aligned architectures and industry-standard integration models.
- Enable seamless integration between BSS, OSS, Digital, Enterprise, and partner ecosystems.
- Ensure data consistency and process orchestration across customer lifecycle journeys.
- Establish integration governance frameworks and ensure compliance with enterprise architecture standards.
- Conduct architecture reviews and ensure adherence to security, compliance, and performance requirements.
- Identify technical risks, dependencies, and integration challenges and define mitigation strategies.
- Drive root-cause analysis and resolution of complex integration and performance issues.
- Ensure solutions meet reliability, availability, scalability, and disaster recovery requirements.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, integration patterns, and industry trends to improve organizational integration capabilities.
- Drive API-first, microservices, cloud-native, and event-driven architecture adoption.
- Recommend process improvements and automation opportunities to enhance delivery efficiency and solution quality.
- Contribute to enterprise architecture roadmaps and digital transformation initiatives.
- Provide architecture support throughout the project lifecycle from requirement analysis to production deployment.
- Participate in effort estimation, solution sizing, resource planning, and technical proposal preparation.
- Support project governance, milestone reviews, and release planning activities.
- Ensure successful deployment and transition of integration solutions into production environments.
Required Skills & Experience
Domain Expertise- 12–15 years of experience in IT with significant exposure to Telecom BSS systems and integration architecture.
- Strong understanding of telecom business processes including Customer Management, Order Management, Product Lifecycle Management, Billing, Charging, and Revenue Management.
- Experience working in large-scale telecom transformation and system modernization programs.
- Expertise in enterprise integration patterns, SOA, API-led connectivity, and event-driven architectures.
- Experience with MuleSoft, IBM ACE/IIB, Apache Camel, TIBCO, Dell Boomi, WSO2, Kafka, and RabbitMQ.
- Experience with API Management platforms such as Apigee, Kong, MuleSoft API Manager, or Azure API Management.
- Strong knowledge of REST, SOAP, GraphQL, JSON, XML, OpenAPI, and microservices architecture.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Understanding of Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong understanding of Enterprise Architecture and Integration Architecture principles.
- Experience with TOGAF and enterprise architecture methodologies.
- Knowledge of TM Forum Open APIs, eTOM, SID, and Open Digital Architecture (ODA).
- Experience designing secure and scalable integration solutions.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence technical decisions.
- Strong documentation and technical writing skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- TOGAF Certification.
- TM Forum Certifications.
- Cloud Architect certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Integration platform certifications (MuleSoft, Boomi, IBM ACE, Apigee, etc.).
- Experience working in Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD-driven environments.
