Position Title : Head Engineering Quality
Function
: Engineering Quality
Location
: Gurugram
Reports to
: SVP (Engineering & Maintenance)
Job Purpose:
Responsible for the design, development, implementation, and delivery of
training programs for engineering staff in compliance with DGCA requirements
and airline objectives.
Key Accountabilities:
Functional Activities
1. Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive Quality Management System
that covers all aspects of the airline's operations.
2. Regularly review and update the QMS to align with industry best practices
and regulatory changes.
3. Stay abreast of aviation regulations and ensure the airline's operations
comply with Indian and international standards.
4. Establish and maintain relationships with regulatory authorities to
facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
5. Lead the development and implementation of safety programs to enhance the
airline's safety culture.
6. Conduct regular quality audits and inspections to identify and mitigate
potential risks.
7. Carry out risk assessment and change management procedures as and when
applicable.
8. Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to service
quality, on-time performance, and customer satisfaction.
9. Conduct audits and inspections to ensure compliance with established
standards and procedures.
10. Oversee the development and delivery of quality-related training programs
for engineering staff.
11. Foster a culture of continuous improvement through training and skill
development initiatives.
12. Collaborate with procurement and operations teams to assess and ensure the
quality of products and services provided by external suppliers and vendors by
developing and implementing effective supplier evaluation program.
13. Lead investigations into quality-related incidents, analyze root causes,
and implement corrective and preventive actions.
14. Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on the status of
the airline's quality performance.
15. Collaborate with relevant departments to develop and maintain robust
emergency response plans.
16. Conduct regular drills and simulations to test the effectiveness of
emergency response procedures.
17. Implement process innovations and sustainable measures in operations to
effective performance of the organization.
Any other additional responsibility could be assigned to the role holder from
time to time as a standalone project or regular work. The same would be
suitably represented in the Primary responsibilities and agreed between the
incumbent, reporting officer and HR.
Skills & Qualities Required
1. Aircraft Maintenance Technician’s Qualification preferably an AME license
in relevant category
2. Extensive experience in aviation, with a focus on quality management and
regulatory compliance
3. In-depth knowledge of aviation regulations and industry best practices.
4. Strong leadership skills.
5. Analytical abilities
6. Team Management and Ability to collaborate effectively with
cross-functional teams.
7. Excellent communication and public speaking skills
8. Planning & coordination skills
9. Strong understanding of aviation regulations
10. Problem Solving Skills
11. Training and/or experience in QMS and Quality Auditor

Collaboration to assess and ensure the quality of products and services from
suppliers.
Monitoring supplier performance and implementing corrective actions when
necessary.
Joint efforts to maintain a high standard for externally sourced goods and
services.
Finance Department
Collaboration to assess the cost of quality and identify cost-saving
opportunities.
Ensuring that quality-related initiatives are aligned with budgetary
constraints.
Joint efforts to quantify the financial impact of quality improvements
Leadership Team
Regular reporting on key performance indicators and quality metrics.
Collaboration on strategic initiatives to enhance overall operational
excellence.
Providing updates on the status of quality management system effectiveness.
External Interfaces
Regulatory Authorities
Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with regulatory
authorities.
Communicating with regulators to address inquiries and provide necessary
documentation.
Collaborating on regulatory inspections and audits.

Work closely with external Training vendors to ensure that training activities
are carried out timely and efficiently
Educational and Experience Requirements
Minimum Education requirements
- An aircraft maintenance engineer qualification along with appropriate DGCA
license and a relevant engineering degree (BE/BTech/AME or equivalent)
| Minimum - 20 years of experience in engineering or aviation, with a focus on Quality Management | Desired - Strong understanding of aviation regulations, standards, and procedures, with experience in managing Training activities |
