Job Summary
The Procurement Lead – Solar Projects will be responsible for leading and
executing end-to-end procurement activities for solar power projects, ensuring
timely availability of quality materials, equipment, and services at the most
competitive costs. The role involves strategic vendor management, contract
negotiation, supply chain optimization, and coordination with internal
stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
Role & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with project timelines
and organizational goals.

Manage the complete procurement cycle for solar EPC projects — including
sourcing, evaluation, negotiations, and contracting.

Identify and develop a reliable vendor base for solar modules, inverters,
structures, cables, transformers, and BOS components.

Evaluate supplier performance on parameters such as cost, quality, delivery,
and service.

Coordinate with engineering, project execution, and finance teams for
material planning and budgeting.

Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and statutory
regulations.

Manage procurement for both domestic and international sourcing
requirements.

Drive cost optimization initiatives without compromising quality or
timelines.

Prepare and analyze RFQs, purchase orders, and vendor agreements.

Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and contractors to ensure a
seamless supply chain.

Support logistics coordination, material tracking, and project site
deliveries.
Education, Experience & Skills requirements
Required Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical / Mechanical preferred).

MBA / PG Diploma in Supply Chain Management or equivalent qualification will
be an advantage.

10–15 years of experience in procurement within the renewable energy sector,
specifically solar EPC projects.

Proven track record in handling large-scale solar project procurements
(utility-scale preferred).

Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.

Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP / Oracle) and MS Office tools.

Excellent analytical, communication, and coordination skills.
-
Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced project environment.
