1. ROLE PURPOSE

The Manager – Civil Design & Engineering will lead all civil and structural engineering activities for the 350 MW brownfield expansion project. The role involves design review, foundation engineering, structural analysis, integration with existing facilities, and ensuring constructability within an operational plant environment. |

3. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

v Lead basic & detailed civil engineering for BTG and BOP structures. v Review and approve structural drawings, foundation drawings, and layouts. v Ensure timely delivery of engineering outputs align with project timelines. |

v Brownfield Integration & Site Constraints |
v Assess space constraints and integration with existing plant structures. Design tie-ins with existing:
o TG building & boiler structures o Switchyard foundations o Coal & ash handling structures o Existing roads, drains & enabling utilities v Plan and develop construction methodology in an operating plant environment. |

v Structural & Foundation Engineering |
v Review and approve:
o Turbine generator foundation and deck superstructure design o Boiler raft / pile foundations o Chimney / stack foundation o Cooling tower basin & structures o ESP / FGD structural systems (if applicable) v Review geotechnical investigations reports to and ensure foundation design inputs are in line. |

v Technical Review & Compliance |
v Ensure compliance with IS codes and relevant standards. v Review structural analysis using STAAD / ETABS models. v Validate design loads (seismic, wind, equipment loads). v Monitor quality of civil BOQs and material specifications. v Able to review, interpret, and validate post‑construction Non‑Destructive Testing (NDT) results |

v Vendor & EPC Coordination |
v Technical evaluation of EPC / civil contractors. v Interface with mechanical & electrical teams for load data and embedment details. v Resolve site technical queries during construction. |

v Construction & Commissioning Support |
v Provide technical support during:
o Excavation & piling o Concreting of major foundations o Structural steel erection v Address design changes and site modifications. v Ensure safety and structural stability during brownfield execution. |

Educational Qualifications & Key Competencies:

B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering M.Tech (Structural Engineering) preferred
Key Competencies: Strong knowledge of heavy foundations, TG decks & industrial structures. Proficiency in Structural design software (STAAD Pro / ETABS / SAFE) Knowledge of pile foundation & raft design Industrial building & heavy equipment foundation design Seismic & dynamic load analysis Prepare BOQ and SOW for tendering purposes. Conversant with relevant IS codes and their latest revisions Strong technical review capability Cross-functional coordination Risk assessment in brownfield conditions Planning under operational constraints Leadership & stakeholder management |
Relevant and total years of Experience:
|
10+ years of experience in thermal power plant civil design. Experience in 300–500 MW projects preferred. Exposure to brownfield expansion projects highly desirable. |
