BI Developer – Amazon QuickSight

Job Title: BI Developer – Amazon QuickSight

Key Skills: BI, SQL, Amazon QuickSight, Basic Data Bricks

• 5+ years in BI/analytics development, with a minimum of 2 years of hands-on AWS QuickSight delivery 
• Strong SQL skills, including joins, common table expressions, window functions, aggregations, and query optimization.
• Experience working with Databricks SQL, Delta Lake, or comparable cloud data platforms
• Solid grasp of SPICE vs. Direct Query trade-offs and when to use each
• Understanding of RLS implementation in QuickSight (tag-based or dataset rules)
• Familiarity with Git, Jira or similar delivery tools
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop QuickSight reports and interactive dashboards from approved wireframes and specifications — calculated fields, parameters, drill-throughs, filter controls, cross-visual interactions
• Build and manage QuickSight datasets (SPICE ingestion and Direct Query), including schema design, field-level transforms, and refresh schedule configuration
• Implement and maintain Row-Level Security rules per the client's access control model
• Optimize report and dataset performance (SPICE tuning, query simplification, visual best-practice review)
• Participate in client walkthrough sessions when required and incorporate feedback iteratively
