About the role
Role: Microservices & UI Tester – Development Squad
Purpose
Ensure end-to-end quality of applications by validating backend microservices and frontend UI through comprehensive functional, integration, and regression testing.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute test cases for microservices APIs and UI workflows (functional, integration, regression)
- Validate API contracts, request/response payloads, and service orchestration using tools like Postman/REST clients
- Perform UI testing to ensure usability, responsiveness, and cross-browser compatibility
- Develop and maintain test automation suites (API + UI) where applicable
- Identify, log, and track defects with clear root cause and impact analysis
- Support CI/CD pipelines with automated test execution and quality gates
- Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and DevOps for defect resolution and quality improvements
Key Skills
- Strong understanding of microservices architecture and API testing
- Experience with UI testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright)
- Knowledge of test automation frameworks and scripting (Java/JS/Python)
- Familiarity with CI/CD, test data management, and defect tracking tools
Success Metrics
- High defect detection efficiency (early-stage identification)
- API and UI test coverage and automation %
- Reduced regression defects in release cycles
- Quality gating adherence with minimal production leakage
