Job Purpose:
We are seeking a technically strong and experienced Mechanical Manager to lead
the installation and commissioning of large-scale wind turbine generators
(WTGs). The ideal candidate will oversee the complete mechanical execution of
wind projects, including foundation interface, logistics coordination,
erection of turbine components (tower, nacelle, hub, blades), mechanical
alignment and pre-commissioning checks. This role requires a deep
understanding of wind turbine technology, safety practices, heavy lifting
operations, and team coordination.
Key Responsibilities:

Project Execution:
-
Lead and supervise all mechanical activities for wind turbine
installation including:
- Tower erection
- Nacelle and hub installation
- Blade lifting and assembly
- Mechanical torquing, alignment, and bolting
- Crane & its arrangements.

Ensure installation is performed as per OEM specifications, drawings,
and QAPs.

Team & Contractor Management:
-
Manage and guide site erection teams, lifting supervisors, rigging
crews, and mechanical technicians.

Coordinate with crane contractors for proper mobilization and
utilization of heavy-lift cranes.
-
Ensure timely availability of manpower, tools, consumables, and lifting
tackles.

Logistics & Site Readiness:
-
Coordinate with logistics teams for timely receipt and safe unloading of
turbine components at site.

Ensure site readiness including access roads, crane pads, and foundation
interfaces.
- Responsible for intercarting.

Safety & Compliance:
-
Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and lifting procedures.
-
Conduct toolbox talks, safety drills, and risk assessments (JSA, LOTO
procedures).

Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and company HSE standards.

Quality Assurance:
-
Monitor quality of mechanical works as per ITP, WTG manufacturer
guidelines, and client standards.

Conduct torqueing, leveling, and alignment checks with proper
documentation.

Ensure availability and calibration of torque tools, lifting
instruments, and measuring devices.

Commissioning Support:
-
Support electrical and SCADA teams during mechanical handover for
commissioning.

Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues during trial runs or test
phases.
- Participate in customer FATs, handovers, and snag rectifications.

Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain daily progress reports, checklists, and QA/QC records.

Provide inputs for MIS, installation certificates, and client billing
documentation.

Report installation milestones, risks, and delays to senior management.

Interface with utilities, third-party testing agencies, and
commissioning teams.

Ensure documentation and sign-off of all commissioning activities.
- Lead a team of contractor and subcontractors on-site.

Monitor contractor performance and ensure adherence to contractual
obligations.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university

Minimum 10 years of experience in mechanical erection in wind turbine
installation (MW-scale turbines)

GWO Certifications: Working at Heights, Manual Handling, First Aid, Fire
Safety
Key Competencies:

Strong knowledge of wind turbine mechanical systems (GE, Vestas, Siemens
Gamesa, Suzlon, Nordex, etc.)

Expertise in heavy lifting, rigging, bolting, torqueing, and alignment
procedures

Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, assembly manuals, and torque
charts
- Familiar with mechanical handover and commissioning protocols
