Mission

Purpose of the Job/Job Mission

·         Indirect Procurement cell activity at Plant level

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Indirect procurement like Engineering items , MRO , Consumable , General , Laboratory , Service , Capex , Contracts etc . for plant level Procurement

1. Cost Efficiency
   • Ensure procurement spend stays within budget while optimizing cost whenever possible.
   • Implement cost-saving strategies (e.g., through rate contracts, supplier negotiations, demand consolidation).
2. Quality & Timely Supply
   • Ensure supplier deliveries consistently meet required quality standards.
   • Avoid stock-outs by proactively managing procurement and inventory planning.
3. Compliance
   • Adhere to company procurement policies, as well as legal and regulatory requirements.
   • Maintain robust procurement documentation (POs, contracts, approvals, comparisons) for audit and record-keeping.
   • Conduct regular supplier evaluations and ensure continuous contract compliance.
   • IMS & PMS activity awareness.
4. Team & Cross-Functional Collaboration
   • Define clear roles and responsibilities for the plant-level procurement buyers.
   • Lead bi-weekly cross-functional meetings to resolve internal procurement issues.
5. Reporting & Transparency
   • Provide clear, accurate data on procurement performance to support decision-making.
   • Prepare, submit, and maintain MIS reports on purchasing activities, spend trends, and procurement KPIs.
6. Procure-to-Pay Process Efficiency
   • Ensure high PR-to-PO conversion rate and minimize turnaround time (TAT) through real-time tracking.
7. Contract
   • Manage service and supply contracts efficiently — from drafting, negotiating to renewal.
   • Ensure service contracts (e.g., maintenance, engineering, packing scrap liquidation) are renewed on time.
   • Monitor contract utilization and enforce compliance.
8. Sourcing & Supplier Management
   • Identify, evaluate, and onboard new potential suppliers.
   • Negotiate favorable terms: pricing, delivery, payment, service quality.
   • Maintain strong, long-term relationships with suppliers.
   • Monitor and evaluate supplier performance on quality, delivery, and cost metrics.
9. Procurement Risk Management
   • Identify risks such as supply disruptions and quality issues.
   • Proactively communicate risks and mitigation strategies to relevant stakeholders.

• SAP MM – Rate Contract : Use SAP MM’s outline agreement functionality
• Purchase Order Creation from Contracts : POs can be created without specifying quantity by referring to a rate contract in SAP MM,
• E – Auction Platform : Awareness & efficient utilization of increase productivity.

Educational Requirements Describe the minimum educational requirement/level

Mandatory:

·         Graduate Engineering or Diploma Engineering  or Graduate / MBA

·         

Desirable:

·         Mechanical / Electrical / Instrument / Civil Engineers or MBA

Experience Describe the knowledge and experience required for this role.

Mandatory:

·         10-15 years of experience in procurement field

·         Handle plant level buyers team

·         IMS documents awareness

·         Procurement process from P to P cycle worked

·         SAP MM module

·         E-auction platform

Desirable:

·         Chemical Industries experience

·         Plant base procurement exposer

·         Contract
